South Sudan faces mass starvation in face of war, famine

More than a quarter of South Sudan's population is on the verge of starvation.

 JUBA, South Sudan, February 8, 2016 – More than 2.8 million people in South Sudan are on the verge of starvation, thanks to an ongoing civil war and famine, according to the United Nations. The UN is pleading with warring factions to end blockades of food supplies to bring relief to the people.
