Whiskey Ranch will be the largest whiskey distillery west of the Mississippi.
For the nascent distillery, Whiskey Ranch will allow Firestone and Robertson to increase production meeting the demands of consumers eager for their award-winning TX Whiskey and TX Straight Bourbon. Firestone and Robertson are winners of the “Best American Craft Whiskey” award for its TX Blended Whiskey, along with a “Double Gold” award.
TX Whiskey Ranch features
Visitors to the TX Whiskey Ranch will not only be able to enjoy the process to create one of newest, premier whiskey, but also enjoy the ranch indoor and outdoor environment. Visitors can enjoy views of Ft. Worth, visit the ranch store and enjoy TX Whiskey and Bourbon in the TX Tavern.
TX Whiskey and Bourbon
The whiskey, with hits deep auburn color and Texas Boot Leather cap, is special from the first sniff of the vanilla bean, oak, and prominent pear notes.
The taste includes layers of honey, caramel, and coffee, with the slightest trace of pear discernable in its long, smooth and slightly sweet finish.
TX Bourbon has mastered caramelizing the natural wood sugars that give Bourbon its deep color, toast and sweet finish to the liquor. To be qualified as bourbon, the whiskey must be made in the U.S.A. and it must be aged in a charred oak barrel.
The consistent heat and humidity found in Texas help to break down the oak, allowing the liquid to move through the charcoal and into the wood during the aging process. As the spirits are absorbed by the wood, transferring back into the barrel, the wood imparts vanilla, spice, oak, coconut and floral flavors into the whiskey.
TX Bourbon offers tastes of dark fruit and cherries, spice caramel and the hint of the Texas pecans from the yeast, captured from Texas native pecan trees, necessary to create the bourbon mash.
That Texas heat is creating a greater depth of flavor and maturity in the spirits.
TX Whiskey Ranch tourism
Making the TX Whiskey Ranch a tourism destination, visitors will enjoy views of downtown Forth Worth from their courtyard. The Ranch Store, in addition to TX whiskey and bourbon, will also feature the work of local artisans.
Visitors will also be able to take advantage of mixology classes and tastings in The Tavern. Perfect for photos and selfies is the Barrel Breezeway, a walk-through replica of the inside of a whiskey barrel barn, the place where those barrels transform raw spirits into whiskey and bourbon.
The TX Whiskey Ranch will be the largest distillery west of the Mississippi, and the first distillery with a 45-foot copper “doubler” still.
Visitors to the TX Whiskey Ranch will be able to tour the distillery, viewing the process of distilling and bottling TX, before designing their own TX boot leather bottle cap.
