Will Hillary fish or cut bait?

MILLINOCKET, Maine, June 29, 2014 — The next two years in politics are going to be interesting, to say the least. Already, Thad Cochran, a Republican (so he says) garnered his reelection victory in Mississippi by a large number of crossover Democrats. Whether that’s admirable or despicable is another discussion.

Some pundits have said that Hillary “I haven’t decided” Clinton’s chances to be a presidential candidate have vanished. But we must not dismiss her out-of-hand.

Once the tumultuous mid-term elections are over, it’s fish or cut bait for presidential contenders.
Hillary is not a “cut-bait” kind of gal. She wouldn’t even stand by her man and bake cookies, once upon a time. No, she’s going fishing for that 2016 Big Tuna.

One wonders if she will ask the Obamas to sit in the back of the boat and chum the waters. Or maybe since Oprah has turned her back on Barack and Michelle, “The O” would be willing to cut bait for Hillary.

Hollywood will certainly play a role (sorry about the pun) but even in Tinseltown conservatives are popping up here and there. But not to worry, Hillary will still have many celebrity-bait-cutters to choose from. There are plenty of Clintonistas hanging out in Hollywood waiting for her announcement to run.

Ah, yes, this coming fall it will be a sight to behold. Once all the candidates have put their oars in the water, we’ll watch the media gulls spin and whirl overhead and the 2016 Presidential Fishing Derby will be underway. And most likely, Hillary Clinton will be at the prow; rod and reel in hand, expecting to win.
