CHARLOTTE: Watching the pendulum of politics is a white collar version of the WWF. Nothing is ever resolved in the wrestling arena that is Washington, and in today’s rapidly changing 24/7 news cycle world, no advantage lasts for very long.
The asinine assault on the duly elected Donald J. Trump
Since the onslaught of negativity upon Donald Trump began two years ago, there has been a steady movement against him. A movement unlike any in modern memory. The assault has a frame from a willing media. A media that has been proven to be dishonest at best, and criminally biased at worst.
From outright, known lies to simply by not reporting an accomplishment by the Administration. Distorting facts and making blind leaps into the untruths perpetuated by a liberal cast.
They do more to discredit themselves than the President whose list of accomplishments is long.
Would we be better off without the Trump Administration policies?
Most observers have been leaning toward a Democratic gain in the upcoming midterm elections which would eliminate the rare Republican majority in all three houses. And with losing that majority, Democrats would put a halt to our growing economy. Our plummeting unemployment rates. And the possibility for peace between North and South Korea, and the world.
Healthcare will remain broken and American’s will remain at risk.
Immigration, a subject that overwhelmed the news cycle this summer, is no longer interesting to liberals despite that no problem has been solved. Those impacted, or whose families are impacted, must note that the liberals have left you at the border.
Republicans need to employ party over politics
Republicans have done nothing to preserve their hold on daily government activities. They are far better at avoiding a decision over fighting for what is the right decision. Republicans seem powerless to stand up for the Republican President. Senators don’t think first about the republic, but instead their own seat and paycheck.
Despite that, every Republican senator should be supporting his policies or working with him to make them better.
The relentless negative media coverage, whether warranted or not, feckless senators and voters blind to the advancements every American should celebrate, the perception has been it’s time for the left to once again be right.
Which is why a story on the Hot Air (Gallup: GOP Favorability Reaches Highest Point Since 2011, Now Ahead Of Democrats) website claiming that Republicans have regained momentum in the fickle cycles of public opinion is so surprising.
That said, it could easily change in a cyber-second.
The second aspect of the mood swing is also puzzling.
News cycle pivoting to Judge Brett Kavanaugh
With the journalistic world focused upon the Brett Kavanaugh hearings, it’s possible that the dirty tricks aspect of the confirmation process by Democrats could be enough impetus to swing the pendulum back to the Republicans.
Not according to Hot Air, however. Reverting to the political mantra of Bill Clinton’s former campaign strategist James Carville which was “It’s the economy, stupid” surprisingise reason given by Hot Air is
“1) the economy 2) the economy 3) the economy.”
Apparently, the American people are content within their comparative relief from the burdensome days of Barack Obama who wasted eight years trying to “fix” the American economy while he was on the golf course.
Can Republicans hold a lead going into the Mid-Terms?
If the new numbers are accurate, and Republicans have taken the uncommon role of front-runner in the favorability column, then it could be that a masterstroke against the evil Democratic strategy being employed against Brett Kavanaugh could become a major factor in November.
It was a given from the outset that Democrats had no interest in considering the Kavanaugh nomination. That much is fairly typical of Washington politics, but the Feinstein “September Surprise” to take the process from the swamp to the cesspool reached new levels of malevolence that is beneath even their lowest standards.
Justice Kennedy retires: will Senate Republicans snatch defeat from the jaws of victory?
Now the fight has gone beyond qualifications, integrity or justice. Rather it has evolved into a dung-fest of the first order intended to smear a man’s reputation for the sake of power.
Can anyone tip over the scum-bucket of liberal associates?
Just once, it would be nice to find an investigative reporter who would look beyond the story at hand and think outside the box. Rather than regurgitate the daily harangues and innuendo against Kavanaugh, why doesn’t somebody, anybody, dig up the dirt on Feinstein and her disingenuous team of scum-bucket associates?
If the Republicans did that, the hew and cry would break windows out of the Capitol Building because the tactic would be so obvious. Then again, coming up with an 11th-hour accuser to denounce Bret Kavanaugh was equally repugnant and dastardly.
Does anyone honestly believe that Feinstein et al. do not have skeletons in their own closets? The fact that Feinstein’s personal driver for nearly two decades was a Chinese spy, for one. (Thiessen: Sen. Dianne Feinstein had a Chinese spy on her staff for 20 years)
Keith Ellison’s and the criminal sexual assault charges against him, that are being ignored. Because # MeToo and the call for women to be believed does not include women filing legitimate complaints against Democrats.
Harry Reid becoming a multi-millionaire. Benghazi. Fast and Furious. The Russia Investigation. The Clinton Foundation.
Let us make them sweat a little bit for once.
21St Century Political Witch Trials
As Mollie Hemingway pointed out in a column for The Federalist,
“We have rules for evidence in our courtrooms that provide excellent guidance in the general culture. One of these is that the burden of proof is not on the accused but the accuser. First, the accuser presents his or her case, buttressing it with all the evidence at hand. Then the accused responds to the accusation using the evidence he or she has. It is easy to make an allegation but difficult to prove one. This is as it should be.”
Instead, we have the Salem Witch Trials (21st-century style). As far as the Dems are concerned, who cares if we destroy a man and his reputation without concrete evidence? The ultimate goal of defeating the candidate is more important than the rights of any individual.
Hopefully, the American people will wake up to the obvious disgrace that is being foist upon them. When the dust clears and all is said and done, let’s hope the backlash against the Democratic strategy toward Brett Kavanaugh is so powerful that the likes of Sen. Feinstein and her cadre of dishonest pretenders pay the ultimate price.
