CHARLOTTE, NC, March 13, 2018 – Sometimes world events truly make a person wonder how supposedly rational, intelligent leaders can arrive at some of their conclusions. “Breitbart News” reported Sunday that the Vatican hopes to change negative opinions about the Middle Eastern migration to Europe by focusing on positive stories about the situation.
Years ago Ted Turner of CNN fame’s television program was featuring nothing but positive stories. People, he felt, were tired of all the blood, guts and scandal dominating mainstream media.
If it bleeds, it leads
The show was called “Good News.” It’s life was about a day and a half. Local newscasts typically follow the well-known industry adage, “If it bleeds, it leads.” Good news does not equal good ratings.
News flash to politically correct optimists. Ideas such as believing it is possible to minimize jihadism are precisely why terrorists sit back and laugh. Laugh at our ignorance and misunderstanding of Islamist goals.
According to Breitbart,
“Migrant” was the most common word in Italian newspaper headlines last year as “most of the stories dealt with the arrivals of thousands of migrants into Italy from North Africa, migrant violence and crimes, and political debates regarding how to address Italy’s migrant crisis.”
Vatican Spox says positive stories must change the public’s negative view of immigrants
On March 7th, co-secretary of the Vatican’s department for migrants and refugees, Jesuit Father Michael Czerny comments in a speech to the International Catholic Migration Commission were that the immigration narrative must change because “the public view is negative.”
Imagine that, following multiple attacks in Paris, Sweden, the United Kingdom and elsewhere in the past two or three years. People are suffering from Islamaphobia.
What does Father Czerny expect the media to do? Report on which flowers dominate the memorials at the site of the attacks? Or explain once again how Islam must constantly defend itself as “a religion of peace?”
Do these people not realize that murder, rape, and jihad will continue as long as Europe capitulates? Did the appeasement efforts of Neville Chamberlain during World War II teach them nothing?
The word that needs gone from the modern dictionary, or defined for people like Father Czerny, is “Islamophobia.” While the phobia itself may actually exist, it is virulent to some in its anti-political correctness.
Suffice it to say that a group called Carta di Roma, a group George Soros financially supports, should be all anyone needs to know about the efforts to remove terms such as “illegal immigrants” from newspapers and broadcasting. Such efforts completely ignore the fact that the term describes precisely what the refugees are.
According to Carta di Roma terms such as “Islamic extremists” should be “extremists” because the word “Islamic” magnifies prejudice against Muslims. Little does it matter that roughly 90% of all terror attacks in the world are by Muslim extremists.
And that fear of radical Islamic terrorists, Islamphobia, is real.
Why it is important to not whitewash Islamaphobia
Consider for a moment just how peaceful the world would be if Islamic terror disappeared from the planet? Islamism is pervasive and needs to be called exactly what it is.
As Father Czerny sees it,
“Migrants and refugees are being scapegoated. I think by telling the truth and by telling positive stories, that’s how I hope we can reverse that narrative.”
Tell that to the families of the 3,000 people dead on 9/11. Or the parents of the slain diplomats in Benghazi, all thanks to a “YouTube video.”
Therefore, simply telling people that the migrant communities are making positive contributions to their new societies is akin to the claims of Muslim’s historical contributions to science.
Perhaps the easiest way to understand that fallacy is with so-called “Arabic numerals” which Western civilizations have supposedly adopted. The problem with that idea is the numbers are not “Arabic” but Indian instead. If you travel to Saudi Arabia, you will readily see that the numbers displayed on license tags are not the Arabic numerals with which we are familiar but traditional numbers which are virtually unrecognizable.
Because it’s all part of the on-going lies that continue by apologists such as Father Czerny.
“It is time for the world to wake up from the delusion we can negotiate with Islamic ideology.”
