Is President Trump’s sleuthing in Ukraine a crime?
WASHINGTON. It seems President Donald Trump is in trouble for emulating McGruff the Crime Dog. Like the trench coat and fedora-donning bloodhound, he’d like to “take a bite out of crime.” Especially from the rump of Democratic Party presidential front-runner, Joe Biden.
Getting to the bottom of it
You see, Trump allegedly asked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy to do what the US Justice Department and America’s mainstream media won’t: look into the shady business dealings of Hunter Biden, “Sleepy” Joe Biden’s son.
You may recall that while serving as vice president, Joe Biden threatened to withhold a $1 billion guaranteed US loan to Ukraine if that nation did not fire its prosecutor then investigating Hunter Biden’s dealings with a local natural gas company.
Asking uncomfortable questions
Getting back to Trump, amateur sleuthing is nothing new. Back in 2016, then-candidate Trump was roundly criticized when he jokingly asked Vladimir Putin’s Russia to help find evidence of Hillary Clinton’s deleted emails.
“Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing. I think you will probably be rewarded mightily by our press,” said Trump.
But our media was downright furious when some of Clinton’s emails eventually surfaced – with supposed Russian help – thanks to Julian Assange’s WikiLeaks. And the media interpreted Trump’s obvious quip as proof he colluded with Vlad to highjack the American presidency.
The latest anger over Trump’s conversational nudging of Ukraine’s top leader to investigate young Biden’s questionable business dealings and their possible link to his doddering father is understandable.
What happens in Ukraine is not subject to US Deep State manipulation. Unlike the FBI’s tainted investigation and exoneration of Hillary Clinton for her illegal handling of top-secret State Department emails.
We must remember that Hillary Clinton is free to travel the world by virtue of the fact she – like her husband Bill – is above the law. Their acts of rank criminality over the decades has landed their co-conspirators in jail, or the grave, while failing to touch the pair in any meaningful way.
Underhanded discussions, as Biden and Clinton have shown, are the exclusive domain of Democrats and their accomplices at the FBI, CIA, NSA, Britain’s MI6, and their pliable friends in the press.
Why won’t they “lock her up”?
To this day, Trump has only to mention Mrs. Clinton in passing during one of his filled-to-capacity rallies to inspire the crowd to raucously chant, “Lock her up! Lock her up! Lock her up!”
As fake-news CNN noted:
“The ‘lock her up’ chant, although not pegged to a particular alleged crime, remained a favorite of Trump rally participants throughout the 2016 campaign. But it has not aged well given the legal troubles of so many Trump campaign associates.”
Those “legal troubles” consist of tax evasion and the process crime of “lying to the FBI.” None of Trump’s associates will serve time for colluding with Russia, which was the reason behind the two-year Russia investigation in the first place.
Getting back to the FBI’s fraudulent Clinton investigation
Hillary Clinton aide Justin Cooper told the feds that in at least two instances “he destroyed Clinton’s old mobile devices [possibly storing her emails] by breaking them in half or hitting them with a hammer.”
No Clinton staffer is currently serving time for bludgeoning evidence in a federal investigation.
South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham told Fox News last March that Attorney General William Barr was fuming mad over the FBI’s slipshod Clinton email investigation.
“I hope there’s a special counsel appointed to look at DOJ corruption and political bias, you know? Because Mueller did his job against Trump. Nobody’s really looked at the Clinton campaign, the FISA warrant abuse or the counterintelligence investigation for criminality yet and somebody should.”
Finding Professor Moriarty
As you know, Barr has appointed US Attorney John Durham to investigate the origins of the Russia collusion conspiracy. A plot that implicates Hillary Clinton due to her campaign and political party’s purchase of the anti-Trump, Christopher Steele dossier. A Russian-sourced document a corrupt FBI did use to gain FISA warrants to wage a counterintelligence, disinformation operation against Clinton’s 2016 rival.
But the Trumpian tendency to view Washington’s Democrats – to paraphrase Sherlock Holmes’s description of Professor Moriarty – as the Napoleon’s of crime, is for some a crime in itself.
The Schiffless Adam Schiff
Democratic Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, Rep. Adam Schiff told (who else) CNN the president’s request that the Ukrainian president investigates Biden family crimes is, well, impeachable.
“There is no [executive] privilege to engage in underhanded discussions,” said Schiff.
This is the same Schiff who lied for more than a year about having irrefutable evidence that Trump committed treason by helping Russia steal the White House.
Underhanded discussions, as Biden and Clinton have shown, are the exclusive domain of Democrats. The Dems and their accomplices at the FBI, CIA, NSA, Britain’s MI6, and their pliable friends in the press.
And these same folks would have us believe President Trump is the criminal for asking Ukraine to do what legal and political authorities in America refuse to do.
