WASHINGTON, March 18, 2018: The deep state. It’s all starting to unravel. The first domino has fallen. The walls are starting to close in. Deep state actor Andrew McCabe, deputy director of the FBI, found himself out of a job. Just days before he was to retire, with full federal benefits. Attorney General Jeff Sessions acted on the recommendation of the Justice Department Inspector General.
Andrew McCabe: The first deep state domino falls
McCabe’s leaks to the press and lies to congressional investigators led the FBI’s Office of Professional Responsibility to recommend his dismissal with all deliberate speed. And Attorney General Jeff Sessions was more than happy to accommodate. But the bad news isn’t over for McCabe.
The Justice Department Inspector General, Michael Horowitz, will soon release a report on the FBI investigations into then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton storing of sensitive government information on her home email server and into her family foundation.
The deep state protects Clinton, targets Trump
Many believe evidence Clinton broke federal law in her mishandling of official State Department emails. That she engaged in lucrative pay-for-play deals (with Russia) to enrich her family foundation is far more credible than that President Trump “colluded” with the Russians to deny Clinton the presidency.
The latter charge is solely based on unsubstantiated claims made in the Christopher Steele dossier. McCabe’s FBI made a point of publicly exonerating Clinton while misrepresenting the significance of the infamous Steele dossier’s dicey claims to the secret FISA court, which sanctioned a government spying operation against the Trump presidential campaign, which led to the eventual appointment of a special counsel.
Secret government growls
And it’s clear McCabe’s downfall has sent a collective chill up the spines of deep state operatives.
“When the full extent of your venality, moral turpitude, and political corruption becomes known,” said President Obama’s CIA Director John Brennan in a tweet directed at President Trump, “you will take your rightful place as a disgraced demagogue in the dustbin of history. You may scapegoat Andy McCabe, but you will not destroy America… America will triumph over you.
Andrew McCabe firing ordered by Obama appointed Justice Department Inspector General
It was the opinion of Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz after completing a year-long inquiry. Oh, and Horowitz is an appointee of President Obama.
But Brennan knows that.
He also knows the compliant toadies of the press will gladly reprint his silly diatribe as a diversion to the real story. The new administration has finally found its bearings. Steps are being taken to unravel the previous administration’s attempt to save Hillary Clinton from federal prosecution.
And to undermine the opposition party’s 2016 presidential candidate by running a Soviet-style disinformation campaign. All with the aid of the media, asserting President Trump won the presidency with Russian help.
Meanwhile, McCabe told Fox News his firing was “part of this administration’s ongoing war on the FBI and the efforts of the Special Counsel investigation, which continue to this day. Their persistence in this campaign only highlights the importance of the Special Counsel’s work.
McCabe sounds a little desperate.
It’s all starting to unravel. As the investigation into the FBI’s connection to British spy Christopher Steele and the agency’s misrepresentations of his anti-Trump dossier to secure a secret FISA court warrant, Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s “investigation” into so-called Trump/Russia collusion will implode.
The constitutional government turned on its head
The FISA court was created in 1978 to oversee requests for warrants against foreign spies operating on American soil. It is now employed to secure warrants against Republican candidates running for president.
The FBI, CIA, and NSA were instituted to fight criminals and totalitarian ideologies that threaten America at home and abroad. Now they actively fight to thwart the political will of the American people. To undermine the constitutional mechanism of the Electoral College.
And the Republican Party, which is said to be for small, unobtrusive government, passed the Patriot Act that allows these abuses to our liberties.
Deep state institutions don’t like transparency. They tell us it threatens to reveal “sources and methods.”
But that is precisely what America needs to stop its slide into authoritarianism.
A Constitutional government will only be possible when we shine a much-needed light on deep state corruption and reform or abolish the arms of government now threatening our freedom.
