There’s a new kid in town – will Liz Warren run against Hillary?

Liz and Hillary

MILLINOCKET, Maine, July 27, 2014 – Now wouldn’t that put the frosting on Hillary’s cake? 2008 was supposed to be her time, but an upstart Senator from Illinois, Barack Obama, beat her out of that one. Now it looks like another upstart Senator from Massachusetts might give her an uphill battle for the nomination in 2016.

Elizabeth Warren roared onto the scene in 2012 with influential backing and lots of money.

Now she has become the darling of many Democrats, getting more well-received face time in public than Hillary.

Since private fund-raising supposedly ends when a candidate officially announces, neither has declared their intentions to run. Meanwhile, money is piling up in PACs for both of them.

“Ready for Hillary” has been countered with a “Ready for Warren” group which hopes to convince Warren that she should run.

The foregone conclusion is that Hillary will run and if Elizabeth Warren jumps into the race, there could be a massive split in the Democratic Party in 2016.

If that should happen, be ready for some unprecedented political fireworks over the next two years. It might actually be fun to watch the sparring to see if Hillary can take down the new kid in town.
