Slugfest 2016: The Obama vs. Clinton ‘blood feud’ boils

Is Valerie Jarrett behind the leaking of HIllary's past and future woes? You bethcha!

LOS ANGELES, March 15, 2015—When it comes to corruption and double-dealing, the Chicago machine is unmatched. Now that the Chicago machine sits in the White House, it’s going head-to-head with the Clinton machine for power over the Democratic Party.

In last week’s column, this writer made a certain off-the-cuff prediction:

“We all know that despite the’Ready for Hillary’ campaigns and the political buzz, Hillary’s candidacy and especially her coronation on the 2016 Democrat ticket is no done deal. That was supposed to happen in 2008, when a little-known senator from Illinois who voted ‘present’ for most his career put an end to that.”

According to Ed Klein in the New York Post, Valerie Jarrett, President Obama’s right-hand woman, is the engineer behind the leaks of Hillary’s current email troubles, among other potentially nefarious dealings when Hillary was Obama’s secretary of state.

“Obama senior adviser Valerie Jarrett leaked to the press details of Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email address during her time as secretary of state, sources tell me. But she did so through people outside the administration, so the story couldn’t be traced to her or the White House.”

Color me not surprised. It has been obvious for a long time that there is no love lost between President Obama and Hillary Clinton. The Clintons have powerful political ties and engender strong loyalty within the party; but now that the Chicago Way has changed the typical status quo, it seems that strong loyalty may not be enough to keep the Clintons in political good graces.

The article goes on to point out more from the unnamed source. With Jarrett’s blessing, probes are being mounted into Hillary’s time as secretary of state, including her financial dealings:

“In addition, at Jarrett’s behest, the State Department was ordered to launch a series of investigations into Hillary’s conduct at Foggy Bottom, including the use of her expense account, the disbursement of funds, her contact with foreign leaders and her possible collusion with the Clinton Foundation.”

The article also alleges that Jarrett is having private meetings with Sen. Elizabeth Warren and former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley, encouraging them to mount campaigns against Clinton for the 2016 presidency. The email debacle and the probes are blood in the water, and the sharks are coming to feed. The question is, will HIllary be the fish that gets eaten, or the shark who turns the herd on itself?

Time will tell.

Klein is known for his tell-all book “Blood Feud: The Clintons vs. the Obamas,” which he dropped last year. He hinted in the book that Obama would be backing out of his promise to support Hillary for the 2016 Democratic nomination. If the above is true, it seems that Obama is not only backing out, but using his executive staff to actively sabotage Hillary’s chances.

We thought the nominations on the Republican side would be interesting; with this potential Democratic infighting, this may turn out to be the bigger show.

Break out the popcorn!
