WASHINGTON. Now that President Trump has purged Obama administration holdovers from top posts at the Justice Department and intelligence agencies, Democrats have to rely on lower echelon Deep State partisans working to oust the duly elected winner of the 2016 presidential election. Their go-to tool, hearsay
The CIA’s schoolyard game of telephone
A so-called CIA “whistleblower” claims to have information concerning President Trump’s “pressuring” of Ukrainian officials to provide dirt on Vice President Biden to – and this is rich – influence the outcome of the 2020 presidential election.
Here’s the most relevant section of the whistleblower’s complaint released Thursday:
“I was not a direct witness to most of the events described.” – CIA Whistleblower
But House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s Democrats are gearing up to impeach President Trump based on hearsay.
Shades of Kavanaugh
This sounds a lot like the ridiculous hearsay campaign waged against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh during his chaotic Senate confirmation hearings.
In fact, Democrats running for president recently called for Kavanaugh’s impeachment based on recent secondhand sexual accusations advanced by Bill Clinton’s impeachment lawyer Max Steir, as reported in The New York Times.
Sexual accusations the so-called “victim” does not recall.
So, don’t be surprised if the CIA whistleblower turns out to be someone akin to Professor Christine Blasey Ford.
She’s the kook burger who accused Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her. Only her accusations were based on repressed memories her psychoanalyst culled from the depths of her tortured subconscious.
Bludgeoning Trump with Biden
But the CIA whistleblower, whose identity is still unknown, did relate one indisputable fact. Under the heading “Circumstances leading up to the 25 July Presidential phone call,” he or she states that Ukrainian Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko
“and his colleagues alleged that…
“… former Vice President Biden had pressured former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko in 2016 to fire then Ukrainian Prosecutor General Victor Shokin in order to quash a purported criminal probe into Burisma Holdings, a Ukrainian energy company on whose board the former Vice President’s son, Hunter, sat.”
Some in the media have even speculated the whistleblower in question is more interested in crushing Joe Biden’s presidential ambitions than waging a futile campaign to impeach President Trump.
CNBC’s Jake Novak correctly observes that Biden is the big loser in all of this.
“Biden is a career politician who simply can’t afford to lose any moral high ground if he hopes to make a strong alternative case for himself against Trump in 2020. Even Biden’s campaign knows the extreme value that moral high ground is to his entire brand.”
Democrats concerned over “moral high ground”?
Aren’t Democrats the party that supported chattel slavery? And imprisoning Americans in internment camps for being of Japanese descent? Or enforcers of Jim Crow’s “separate but equal” parting of the races?
We are living at a time when people lose their jobs or are ostracized from society for a decade-old tweet. But we are supposed to pretend the long and ugly history of the Democratic Party somehow affords its current candidates’ moral high ground?
Trump’s defense against the Democratic juggernaut for impeachment will be simple:
“Democrats want to impeach me for investigating Joe Biden’s efforts, with an approving nod from his boss President Obama, to feather the financial nest of his son, Hunter.”
The coming impeachment won’t occur on Capitol Hill but at the ballot box in 2020. And it’s the American voter who will impeach the political careers of many a House Democrat.
