GIVAT SHMUEL, Israel July 28, 2014 — Any of the thousands of councilors currently spread across the summer camps of America can tell you just how fragile a child is. In the modern western world, where very few issues are unanimously agreed upon (because pluralism is always the answer), the wellbeing of children has never been a topic which has bred a large divide.
This is why, as CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer incessantly repeated that four Palestinian children were killed on a Gaza beach last week during the early days of Operation Protective Edge, it was not immediately alarming. That is, until, you realize who it was he was interviewing and where he was pointing his grossly misguided finger.
In the video, Blitzer attacks Israeli Economics Minister and Security Cabinet Member Naftali Bennett for the death of the four young beachgoers. In fact, the deaths of hundreds of innocent children have been one of the loudest talking-points against Israel during this current operation.
However, whoever condemns Israel, whose army has proven time and again to be the most moral in the world, for the abuse and death children, has simply shut their eyes and ears to the reality on the ground.
Putting as many children in danger, be they Israeli or Palestinian, has been an essential tactic of Hamas from its inception. Every time Israel is hammered for “killing children,” Hamas becomes emboldened to put more in harm’s way.
Let us begin with the children the world seems to think are more valuable than Jewish progeny, the children of Gaza.
Old and new media alike have exploded with outcries over the civilian death toll in Gaza, which includes a high number of dead youths. This eruption is absolutely justified. Blaming Israel instead of Hamas is not.
According to Colonel Richard Kemp, who commanded British ground troops in Afghanistan, “Hamas wants the Israeli Defense Force to kill their children, their women, that’s what they want to happen. They want to get the propaganda; they want to get the publicity, the sympathy and the pity of the world by getting the Israelis to kill their population. That’s exactly what their tactic is.”
Not only has Hamas been proven to use children as human shields in this war, as well as in past battles, but a number of Israel’s casus belli for starting this operation is tied to Hamas’ abuse and murder of their own children.
The first, of course, involved Israeli children. This was the kidnapping and killing of three innocent young Israelis on their way home from school in late June.
The more reported reason the IDF has extended its mission in Gaza is due to the vast terror tunnel network it is working tirelessly to destroy. But it is not just Israeli children who are endangered by these underground catacombs. Palestinian children were unable to avoid the treacherous fate of these tunnels as well.
According to a paper published by The Institute for Palestinian Studies, which, it should be noted whole-heartedly adopts the distorted Palestinian anti-Israel narrative, admits that Hamas’ “cavalier approach to child labor and tunnel fatalities damaged the movement’s standing with human-rights groups…At least 160 children have been killed in the tunnels, according to Hamas officials.”
So Hamas, by its own volition, in attempts to gain access for murdering innocent Israelis, subjects its own children to backbreaking labor that often proves fatal. In a paper so rife with deceit, the author still admits that Hamas has killed more than 150 of its own children. These are the monsters that the ‘liberals’ have gone to bat for.
Even more so, the tunnels themselves were built with cement that was originally provided by Israel and the United States to help the Palestinians build structures in Gaza. These aid packages could have helped to build schools, housing and even bomb shelters for Gaza children. Instead, Hamas, who was elected into power, earmarked these supplies for terror instead.
In another vivid display of child abuse, as can be seen in videos such as the one below, Hamas religious and military authorities often place rocket launchers in schools and playground, which serves two purposes.
The first is that they can begin to indoctrinate the next generation of Jew-haters from a very young age. The second is that they can either deter a retaliatory Israeli strike, knowing that the IDF does all it can avoid killing civilians, or, preferably for them, the kids become ‘collateral damage’ which they can then tout to the world as ‘proof’ of Israeli aggression.
This has all been confirmed by reports emanating from wounded IDF soldiers about the disturbing use of children on the battle field. According to Arutz 7, “Parents of wounded soldiers spoke to Kol Yisrael [radio] on Tuesday and shared some of the disturbing stories they had heard from their sons. They said soldiers have repeatedly seen young children in Sheijaya, Gaza, be sent out into the streets with guns to try to attack IDF troops. One parent reported that terrorists had run at IDF soldiers with a gun in one hand and a baby in the other, apparently in hopes that the soldiers would see the child and hold their fire. If soldiers fired, the parent added, the child’s death could be used as propaganda against Israel.”
Israelis do not claim victory every time a Palestinian child is killed. Hamas does.
Then there are the brutal, bur far less reported, effects Hamas is having on Israeli children.
For some reason, because Israel does a much more efficient job of protecting its citizens (not surprising considering they see them as humans and not expendable pawns), the media and ‘human rights’ groups have deemed Israeli children more-or-less unaffected by the constant missile barrage and infiltration attempts of Hamas on an hourly basis.
In a study published in 2012 by the Journal of Adolescent Health, “half of Sderot middle schoolers surveyed by local researchers showed signs of post-traumatic stress disorder.”
Not only was this study conducted on just one of a large number of Israeli towns that has been hammered with rockets for years, but the data was collected in 2007-2008. Since then, hundreds more rockets have sent these innocent children sprinting for shelter as the sky literally explodes above them.
How can anyone look at this picture and find Hamas to hold the moral high ground?!
Results of a recent medical survey done in Southern Israel found that, “children’s reactions [to the incessant rocket fire] were particularly acute and noted by almost all the parents interviewed.”
According to the researcher, Dr. Irwin J. Mansdorf, “One parent spoke of her children suffering from bedwetting and being scared to use the toilet, for fear of missing a warning siren. Others reported having behavioral problems and difficulties in school and learning, attributing this to a state of constant nervousness, lack of sleep and strong reactions to sudden loud noises.”
Despite what the press wants everyone to believe, Israeli children are not impervious to the evil of Hamas.
In fact, some Israeli and Arab children are introduced to the Jewish State’s nefarious neighbors in their first moments on this earth, as hospital nurses and patients are forced to grab the newborns and bring them into stairwells and shelters due to blaring air raid sirens.
These are the ‘unaffected’ Israeli children the world is unconcerned with.
Then there are the aforementioned tunnels and what they mean for Israeli children. The tunnels that run from Gaza to Israeli towns are meant for one thing only, the mass murder of innocent Israeli civilians. According to Israeli security forces, Hamas had been planning to invade Israel on the Jewish New Year to apprehend and slaughter any Jew in their sight. “Thousands of terrorists were meant to cross over to Israel from Gaza through the tunnels and kill and kidnap as many Israelis as they could,” the source said.
The last time an Israeli settlement was infiltrated by Palestinian terrorists, five members of the Fogel Family were murdered in their sleep, including Yoav, who was 11, Elad, who was 4 and Hadas, who was just three months old. At the time, the Jerusalem Post reported that “Hamas hailed the attack as a heroic operation.” The recently-uncovered terror tunnels were preparation for more of the same. In a heart-and-gut-wrenching turn of events, Palestian propagandists have recently been exposed as repurposing the pictures of the brutally assured Fogel children and disseminating them as ‘proof’ of an Israeli assault on their young.
To all those still refusing to see anyone other than Israel at fault for this unending loss of young life, the blood-thirsty child-killing animals described above are your “good guys.”
Where is your honesty? Where is your compassion?
Stop hiding behind liberal talking points and get behind Israel, the only nation in the entire Middle East where being a child is safe because your government does all it can to ensure you reach adulthood not only alive, but happy and successful.
Hamas abuses and murders its own children and cites the slaughter of Israeli kids as a main objective. There is no good to be found in these barbarians, and defending them condemns you to the same designation.
