WASHINGTON: The IG Horowitz report will leak in drips and drabs over the next nine days. What the mainstream media does not know, they will make up in a series of prebuttals – anticipatory statements designed to frame the narrative that they see nothing. Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich has been vocal as to his opposition to the behavior of the Democrat class. Today interview author Lee Smith about his latest book, The Plot Against the President.
In the article New York Times article “Russia Inquiry Review Is Said to Criticize F.B.I. but Rebuff Claims of Biased Acts – A watchdog report will portray the pursuit of a wiretap of an ex-Trump adviser as sloppy, but it also debunks some accusations by Trump allies of F.B.I. wrongdoing” they write:
“A highly anticipated report by the Justice Department’s inspector general is expected to sharply criticize lower-level F.B.I. officials as well as bureau leaders involved in the early stages of the Trump-Russia investigation, but to absolve the top ranks of abusing their powers out of bias against President Trump, according to people briefed on a draft.”
Which leads to the question, which people are leaking the IG report “information” to the liberal media?
his ongoing drip of supposedly confidential and possibly inaccurate information to the NY Times, Washington Post or CNN – who have all opined on the supposedly unseen report – is in and of itself collusion on the behalf and behest of the Democrats. Like UN Ambassador Sondland testified – the knowledge comes from nowhere.
The American system of jurisprudence and an intelligence apparatus designed to protect Americans has been “bypassed, ignored, or misused” to the point where America and Americans are in grave danger.
Jason Chaffetz, former republican Senator and Fox New Contributor writes:
“As America awaits what many expect to be the most damning investigation of all, it’s fair to ask what has been done to rein in our rogue FBI.
The report on FISA abuse set for release on Dec. 9 is expected to show how the FBI used the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) to spy on American citizens affiliated with the Trump campaign in 2016. As damning as such a conclusion would be, it will only be the latest in a series of explosive revelations from the Department of Justice Inspector General (IG) Michael Horowitz, some of which got muted coverage from the mainstream press. Advance leaks suggest the upcoming report will, at a minimum, show an FBI lawyer illegally altered documents to justify a FISA application.
Even before next week’s anticipated release, we already have IG reports implicating the FBI director, assistant director, deputy assistant director, and chief of the counterintelligence section. Though none of them remain at the bureau, we have seen little reassurance from current FBI Director Christopher Wray that the culture they created has changed.”
Which is a big part of America, or at least 50% of America that supports our “rule of law,” fears. The Democrats will walk away after having perpetrated the biggest hoax on any president, the Russian Collusion narrative. A hoax that went so much further than claiming the President was in cahoots with President Putin to sway the election. But that went as far as to make salacious and false accusations toward the President involving urinating hookers and sexual misconduct. Allegations that are on their face ridiculous. Allegations that no one has apologized for, much less been held to criminal misconduct over.
And yet little is said of beyond the pale, outside the bounds of acceptable behavior, exhibited from the top down by Hillary Clinton, James Clapper, John Brennan, Andrew McCarthy, Jim Comey, Bruce and Nellie Ohr, Peter Strozk, Lisa Page, and the litany continues.
Not only harming America both domestically and on the foreign stage but also demeaning the thousands of persons working in the FBI and CIA to protect our rule of law and safety from people just like them. It has to be demoralizing for that rank and file.
Thus far, despite knowing about wrongdoing, no one has been prosecuted
Which serves two negative purposes. Americans have a tendency to move forward meaning the Democrats crimes and plots against the President will be relegated, like Benghazi, to history. The time between crime and punishment also means that the perpetrators of those misdeeds and misdemeanors are able to fade from memory and the focus of the law.
The IG can make a recommendation, but it is up to the Department of Justice to prosecute. Which can be difficult when it is one of their own. Particularly if that person’s previous contributions to American justice are seen as..just.
It is almost as if the excuse “I did it because I hate Donald Trump” is an actual defense. Which it is not.
A manufactured narrative – wholly the creation of Democrats, political operatives, intelligence officials and the liberal media – has been foisted on the American people. Intelligence officials are continuing to leak secrets to a media who will overlook crimes that demean the President.
One just needs to look at the scandals
Like a child demanding that “Ida Know, Not Me, and Nobody” did it, the persons behind the Trump Towers in Moscow scandal, the Russia Hoax, the Robert Mueller investigation, and now the Pelosi-Adam Schiff impeachment effort shuffle their feet and demand that no wrong has been done.
This is politics as usual. It is Watergate all over. Its the Republican’s fault. It is Donald J. Trump’s fault. No question about it. What it is is one political party, the Washington bureaucracy, and the media working together to overrule the American people and the 2016 election.
The drive for impeachment started before the President ever entered the Oval Office.
President Trump is the latest of only four presidents – Andrew Johnson, Richard Nixon and Bill Clinton – to face impeachment. Out of the four, Clinton was the only President successfully impeached by the House of Representatives. Clinton’s impeachment on December 19, 1998 was on the grounds of perjury to a grand jury (by a 228–206 vote) and obstruction of justice (by a 221–212 vote).
Nixon resigned before proceedings began. Johnson became the first American president to undergo impeachment on March 2–3, 1868. The trial in the Senate began three days later, however on May 16, the Senate failed to convict Johnson on one of the eleven articles of impeachment he was charged with. Falling short of the necessary two-thirds majority necessary to Impeach by one vote on May 26, the House failed to convict the president on two articles, both by the same margin, after which the trial was adjourned.
The House failure to learn from the Impeachment of Andrew Johnson
The impeachment and trial of Andrew Johnson had important political implications maintaining that Congress should not remove the President from office simply because its members disagreed with him over policy, style, and administration of the office. Johnson remains the only U.S. president to be impeached until Bill Clinton became the second in 1998.
During a recent edition of Newt’s World, former Speaker of the House Gingrich – who oversaw the impeachment of President Bill Clinton – weighs in on the Democrats speaking with Lee Smith author of “The Plot Against the President: The True Story of How Congressman Devin Nunes Uncovered the Biggest Political Scandal in U.S. History – October 29, 2019″
At Fox News online, Gingrich writes:
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats’ tunnel-vision focus on impeaching President Trump puts all of us, as Americans, at risk.
This may sound extreme, but I lay it all out in this week’s episode of “Newt’s World.”
Since the day Trump was elected president, Democrats have been formulating and executing the plot we have been watching unfold. After Trump won a massive electoral majority, Democrats started digging.
They have been determined to find something – anything – they can use to attack him. The central focus of all of this is to describe and define Trump as a corrupt president so often that people begin to accept the narrative. It’s not only the elected Democrats. Much of the intelligence community has been equally determined to “uncover” something on President Trump from the beginning.
In my judgment, the liberal national news media is mindlessly repeating this narrative. Many in the media are implicitly biased against President Trump – but even those who are not are helping the Democrats by giving their message airtime, print real estate and attention.
As this plot against Trump has continued, the American system has been bypassed, ignored, or misused to the point where it has been put it in jeopardy. Democrats, political operatives, American intelligence officials and the media have been forcing a manufactured narrative on the American people. Specifically, a group of these intelligence officials are breaking the law by leaking secrets to the media (whose members gladly overlook these crimes so long as it lets them accuse the president of something new).
We have seen this pattern with the so-called Trump Towers in Moscow scandal, the Robert Mueller investigation, and now the Pelosi-Adam Schiff impeachment effort.
This is not politics as usual. It’s a concerted effort by one political party, the Democrats, as the Speaker elucidates, the Washington bureaucracy, and the media to overrule the American people. (Trump Impeachment Not Justified by Evidence and Testimony Made Public So Far)
And we should all care, be concerned and recognize the cautionary tale that the assault against the President, legally elected, portends. It is all just one step away from the destruction of the greatest political experiment in the history of the known world.
What our Founders could not do-was guarantee the success of their creation. When asked if they had created a democracy or republic Franklin’s reply was a “republic if you can keep it. Our Founders knew that America’s grand experiment depended on a class of educated future citizens.
“If a nation expects to be ignorant and free in a state of civilization,” Thomas Jefferson once warned, “it expects what never was and never will be.”
In his First Annual Message to Congress, President George Washington says that “knowledge is the surest basis of public happiness.” Unfortunately, today’s Democrat leaders and a compliant liberal media have forgotten, after decades of ignoring civics and history lessons in public schools, the knowledge that Washington, Franklin, and Jefferson all sought in creating these United States of America.
A thought, an experiment in Government, we are liable to lose to socialist Democrats who are leading not to the benefit of the people, but with the hate of the President, in their hearts.
because it taught citizens to know and defend the rights government was formed to protect, to distinguish between oppression and lawful authority
