WASHINGTON: The mainstream media, those spokespersons for the liberal Democrats, says the President’s use of his executive power to enrich his personal life must stop. First, we get reports that he is eating fast food aboard Air Force One, turning a symbol of America power into a drive-up soccer van. Then it was ice cream gate, where the President dismissed White House guest’s needs by demanding that he gets two scoops of vanilla when they get only one. Now it is Salt & Pepper gate.
The President of the United is attempting to corner the market on salt & pepper spices by demanding he has the largest pair of shakers on the table.
According to Business Insider:
When he’s having working lunches or dinners at the White House, President Donald Trump often wields salt & pepper shakers almost twice the size of everyone else’s.
This could be another one of his power moves, alongside his fierce handshakes and bulky suits.
Photos show Presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama using the same size shakers as their White House guests, while Trump’s usually tower over others.
Because the media has to fill that headline slot and chase that click. We have gone from fast food to ice cream gate to salt and pepper gate, all stupid stories meant to discredit, demean and embarrass the President. But the reality is that fast food and America are synonymous.
Though they exist, it can be hard to find a person who does not enjoy a fresh Big Mac from time to time.
President Donald Trump displays his power with firm handshakes, a second scoop of ice cream, and towering salt and pepper shakers.
Mark Knoller, CBS News’ White House correspondent, pointed out how much bigger Trump’s shakers were in a tweet on Thursday.
Insider combed the photo archives and found that Trump more often than not gets much larger salt and pepper shakers than other foreign leaders or American politicians when dining at the White House. And we couldn’t find instances of Trump’s most recent predecessors using larger shakers than those of their guests.
Note that the article headline says that the President’s pair of salt and pepper shakers is massive. Really? That is “massive” according to the mainstream media. No wonder they hysterically get so much wrong in their hyperbolic coverage of President Trump.
The chase for the headline click at the cost of embarrassment of our Chief Executive has to stop.
It makes the media look petty and small. And it proves the Republican’s mantra that the mainstream media, liberals and yes, even you Mrs. Pelosi, harbor if not hate, extreme dislike of Donald J. Trump. Obviously they have spent too much time in echo chambers forgetting the first rule of kindergarten. Be nice. Get along. Respect others.
Neither the Conan the Dog or the Salt & Pepper shaker liberal narrative is accurate
The President and First Lady were largely criticized for their lack of physical interaction with Conan, the military dog that assisted in the capture and killing of Isis Leader Al Baghdadi. When addressing the press, the President had fun. Warning the press that they were safe as long as they kept their mouths shut.
The President joked that they – the handlers – wanted him to have a muzzle on the dog, but he said no. But the President and First Lady did keep their distance. Why? They must hate dogs, screams the liberal media.
The President could not remember the breed of the dog, a Belgian Malinois.
Better he did not get the breed wrong. The Belgian Malinois is not a very common pup – like a cocker spaniel. The breed has recently gotten more recognition following Conan’s service and the appearance of the Belgian Malinois in the Keanu Reeves John Wick 3 movie.
Conan is a highly trained – meaning expensive – working dog. He is not a pet.
The handler kept Conan on a short leash, which did not keep him from siding up next to Vice President Pence. But I can promise you, the President and First Lady were asked to not crouch down for that photo op. That the president would not be effusive toward the dog any more than he would be any troop member visiting the White House. All for the safety of the dog, POTUS, and FLOTUS.
The chance that Conan would have done anything to endanger the President or Mrs. Trump is highly unlikely, but would you be the person to say to the leader of the free world “nothing will happen, trust me”?
But the mainstream media saw this as proof positive, Donald J. Trump hates dogs. We here at CDN, saw it is a protective measure for Conan and our leaders.
President Trump signs an animal anti-cruelty bill
Doing more for the finned and furred than any President before him, in late November President Trump signed the Preventing Animal Cruelty and Torture (PACT) Act. This act expands prior laws that inhibited the creation and sharing of “obscene” videos of animal abuse. The previous law, however, did not prohibit acts of violence toward animals itself.
Introduced by Reps. Ted Deutch (D-Fla.) and Vern Buchanan (R-Fla.) in the House, the law would make it a federal crime for “any person to intentionally engage” in animal cruelty, including burning, drowning, suffocating, impaling or otherwise injuring “non-human mammals, birds, reptiles or amphibians,” per a fact sheet provided by Rep. Deutch’s office.
In signing the bill, the President spoke of the role animals play “in the development, settlement, security, and happiness of our country.” He specifically called out Conan, a military dog injured during the mission that killed Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.
“This common-sense legislation restricts the creation and distribution of videos or images of animal torture,” Trump said Monday at the bill signing. “It is important that we combat these heinous and sadistic acts of cruelty, which are totally unacceptable in a civilized society. (‘Animal crushing’ banned: Trump signs bill making animal cruelty a felony)
Are these the actions of a President that hates animals? So why does the mainstream media push that narrative? Easy answer, because it demeans the Republican President they despise.
My Salt & Pepper pair of shakers is bigger than yours
Now the media is up in arms because the President has a larger pair of salt and pepper shakers on the table in the White House. It is his big meaty hands, they cry. He needs to have everything bigger – his suits, his ice cream, his salt & pepper shakers, other’s bemoan.
It is possible, let’s consider for a moment, that in setting a large formal table for guests that each guest does get their own smaller salt & pepper shaker. Not uncommon at all. We have all seen these on airplanes, at formal events or starred restaurants. It is a cleanliness thing. In most restaurants, the salt & pepper shaker are laden with germs.
Or, maybe the President, watching his health only uses sea salt … could be. Who knows, who cares? Liberal media.
So a salt & pepper shaker that are yours and yours alone is not a bad idea
But for the President to have his own Salt & Pepper shakers, what could be the reason for that?
Is it, possibly, keeping the President safe? Just like the President was told to not get down on the ground and embrace the military working dog? How easy would it be for a Trump detractor – of which the White House has had plenty – to tamper with the contents? Is it possible one person is in charge of keeping the President’s salt & pepper shaker out of the hands of others?
Or is it that the President, at 6’3 and a big man, does not like attempting to manipulate those minuscule pieces of spice-filled crystal. Those tiny receptacles that the more dainty hands of President Obama or Prime Minister Justin Trudeau more easily flourish?
Who knows, who cares? It is like the double-entendre of this headline. But what we do know is that President Trump did not, in all likelihood, demand that he have the bigger pair of salt and pepper shakers on the table. At least not as a show of some narcissist quest for dominance, as liberal media wants you to believe.
At the end of the day, it was a decision made by the head usher of the White House. Or the President. Or Melania Trump who is a fierce defender of her husband and son.
There are much bigger issues on the table than the President’s salt & pepper shakers
Now can the media turn their attention to the fact that Pelosi is holding the US – Mexico – Canada agreement to the detriment of jobs in America. Can we focus on funding the government, and the military? Can we start conversations in Congress on fixing the high cost of prescription drugs in America?
Salt & Pepper, Ice Cream and Fast Food gates are more than just an example of lowered journalistic standards. Because the liberal narrative is something the Hillary voters of America want to embrace. Again, why? Because media consumers are the angry mob that hates the President and they are always on the lookout for more reasons to justify their hatred.
Just watch CNN for – well as long as you can stand it.
Fake news is abundant, that has been proven. Now we have what Business Insider calls “Superfluous news”. It is just one more of the tools in the Anti-Trump media’s basket of abstract – distract tools.
