WASHINGTON: The same day Special Counsel Robert Mueller indicted 12 Russian GRU intelligence agents for, as our hyperventilating media insists, “damaging our democracy,” Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein reminded those nervous Nellies:
“There is no allegation in the indictment that any American was a knowing participant in the alleged unlawful activity or knew they were communicating with Russian intelligence officers. There is no allegation in the indictment that the charged conduct altered the vote count or changed the outcome of the 2016 election.”
The conspiracy that wasn’t
In other words, the only “conspiracy” uncovered by the Special Counsel and the Justice Department thus far was between the “retarded” and “lazy POS” –a.k.a., “We the People” – as described in a text message by the FBI’s former head of counterintelligence, Peter Strzok.
Not only was there no Trump/Russia collusion in the presidential contest of 2016, what Russian “interference” there was had no effect on the outcome.
Nearly three decades after the fall of the Soviet Union, our constitutional order continues to best the snarling Russian bear.
A dunce for all seasons
The same day Mueller’s indictment proved the pointlessness of his investigation, a dying man with a Twitter account, Arizona Sen. John McCain, declared that America’s duly-elected president should cancel his upcoming summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki to “demonstrate that there will be a serious price to pay for his ongoing aggression towards the United States and democracies around the world.”
That is rich.
It’s well known McCain received a copy of the anti-Trump dossier concocted by former British intelligence agent Christopher Steele, which he shopped to the FBI. We also know the dossier in question was paid for – to the tune of $12 million – by the Clinton presidential campaign and the Democratic National Committee. We also know the dubious accusations contained within the dossier were provided by Steele’s Kremlin contacts.
That means McCain was duped again and again and again. His Never-Trump Derangement blinded him to the fact he was nothing more than a mindless tool for Hillary Clinton, her party, a British double agent and, ultimately, Vladimir Putin.
The conspiracy that was… and failed
And all that McCain-Steele-Clinton-DNC-Putin collusion has not “altered the vote count or changed the outcome of the 2016 election.”
It seems the only collusion of consequence Special Counsel Robert Mueller has proven thus far is that between the American voter and President Trump, which continues to undermine the machinations of America’s enemies – both at home and abroad.
