WASHINGTON, January 26, 2018: Democrat or Republican, conservative or liberal, if the government came to your door and asked for $1000 check right now, then come around tax time, $1,700 more than they paid last year, most American would be angry.
So when Trump Tax Reform puts a bonus in their pocket, plus a reduction in their taxable income that will reduce the amount of taxes they will be paying on a weekly basis, those crumbs start to make a very tasty cake. Business Insider reports that an average middle-class family with an income of $75,000 annually could see a tax savings of over $1,700 per year.
For that average middle-class family, who also received a bonus, there is an extra $2,700 on the gross income for the year.
Nancy Pelosi: $1000 is crumbs
As House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi slams President Trump’s tax reform, she calls $1000 in tax savings for the average worker making $75,000 per year as “crumbs”. The house speaker forgets her praise for the Obama-era $40 per paycheck tax cut, or $960 annually, to workers as a “victory for America” in 2011.
In December 2011 Nancy Pelosi tweeted out.
Today’s agreement is a victory for the American people-they spoke out clearly & #40dollars each paycheck will make a difference.
