Rob Reiner’s wrestling the soul of democracy from 28 million Roseanne viewers

WASHINGTON, March 4, 2018: Hollywood liberals like Rob Reiner are having a total meltdown due to the titanic success of Roseanne Barr’s ‘Roseanne’ show reboot. Mostly because Rob Reiner could not create a sitcom that would generate a fraction of the viewership Roseanne enjoyed.

Roseanne by the numbers

Eighteen million viewers for the show’s debut sent shock waves throughout America. Roseanne is heartland comedy. And liberals are lashing out against the nation’s heartland comedy. According to ABC data, another 6.7 million viewers have since watched the premiere via recorded episodes. The largest total viewer three-day DVR increase for a single telecast on any network ever.

Roseanne‘s premiere now stands at an incredible 25.04 million viewers. This week’s episode viewership at 15.2 million has done little to make Reiner and his liberal Hollywood friends feel any better.

Robb Reiner warns, “Democracy is really in trouble.”

Here is the real deal about Rob Reiner and his small pocket of Hollywood leftists. They truly believed their own liberal mainstream media statements and Trump bashing during the 2016 presidential election cycle. Imagine, the horror as they sipped their margaritas in their left-coast multi-million-dollar mansions when 63 million “Deplorables” elected Trump president.

When suddenly media and late-night comedians favorite joke became the most powerful man on earth.

Fast forward to just before the ‘Roseanne’ show’s airing on America’s airwaves. There was much mainstream media debate concerning how this little show which originally aired in 1988 would matter. Even, ABC late-night host Jimmy Kimmel or Jimmy Kimmel Live tried to deride Barr about her show and her support for President Trump.

She stood her ground leaving Kimmel a bit rattled. The ‘Roseanne’ storm soon followed.

The storm that liberal Hollywood types like ‘Meathead’, Rob Reiner’s’ original character he portrayed on the 1970’s ‘All in the Family’ fear is real.

The record-shattering ratings monster that is Roseanne is for real. In comparison, TVRatings.com says that for this season Jimmy Kimmel has a total of 2.1 million viewers.

More importantly, is how subtle the show’s characters are in not directly mentioning catchphrases like ‘white supremacy’ or ‘alt-right’. Christians and conservatives alike cheered because they had a heroine on network television that spoke their language.

Rob Reiner’s fight for the soul of democracy

Equally important is how the show’s revival has given more legitimacy to the feelings and beliefs of everyday heartland Americans.

Which Rob Reiner agrees is happening:

“You have your Fox News and Sinclair and Breitbart and Infowars, which used to be considered and thought of as the lunatic fringe, have now become the mainstream media,” Reiner said, adding that, “truthful journalists, people who are pursuing the truth, are diminished.”

Roseanne reboot gut-punches Hollywood’s dominant political culture

Well, sounds like Reiner has just eaten a bushel of sour grapes. What he cannot tolerate is how the mainstream media has actually become not only the lunatic fringe, but that now America know it as well.  The Fake News industry which had been carefully cultivated by the liberal alphabet soup networks of ABC, NBC, CBS and cable’s CNN and MSNBC have been outed by President Trump. Even Barr eluded to it in the first episode of her reboot show.

It seems liberal entertainment industry activists are on the outside staring inside. Simply put they do not have a liberal counterpart show to compete with the Roseanne juggernaut. Reiner calls this show a symbol of the invasion of heartland red-state beliefs.

Reiner insists:

“They’re now invading us, and you guys in the mainstream media seeking the truth are really fighting an uphill battle. This is a real battle right here for the soul of democracy.”

Liberals out there on the east and left coast who believed in the Obamamization of America’s entertainment industry need to wake up. They and Rob Reiner need to understand that the sleeping giant of heartland sent a message on November 8, 2016.

Because Republicans won in 2016, they will win in 2018 and President Trump will win in 2020. Sixty-three million voters and 18 – 25 million viewers will make certain of it.
