WASHINGTON: Candidate Trump promised to not take a dime or a dollar from the American people. As President Trump he sets himself apart by not making a dime from his service – no book deals, Pulitzer Prize awards or speaking engagements (Barack Obama’s Net Worth 2015: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know). That said, the President is donating his most recent quarterly paycheck of $100,000 to the Department of Homeland Security.
While the press doesn’t like writing about it, nor do I need them to, I donate my yearly Presidential salary of $400,000.00 to different agencies throughout the year, this to Homeland Security. If I didn’t do it there would be hell to pay from the FAKE NEWS MEDIA! pic.twitter.com/xqIGUOwh4x

A candidate’s promise, a President’s promise kept
While the President vowed to not take a salary, he is legally obligated to do so. His solution has been to donate that salary to various groups. His last paycheck was donated to alcoholism research in memory of his brother Fred, who died from the disease. Other $100,000 donations have been made to Health and Human Services (November 2017) and the National Parks Service (April 2017). The money donated to the National Parks Service will fix a historic fence and house at Antietam National Battlefield in Maryland.
The President has also donated his salary to the Small Business Administration, the Department of Veterans Affair, and the Department of Transportation to help fund a new grant program for repairing or building infrastructure, according to federal officials.
Every quarter donations are made and the twitter storm follows:
The question on many minds is how Donald Trump can be vilified for donating his salary, even as others benefit. Make no mistake, Ocasio-Cortez will be worth millions in the very near future. And Widow McCain is worth millions, an heiress on her own, yet American taxpayers paid for the late congressman’s never-ending, Trump bashing funeral cortege.
So @realDonaldTrump (a capitalist) donates his paycheck to DHS but loudmouth AOC (a socialist who wants to tax Americans at 70%) keeps her entire paycheck..
Money where your mouth is, babe?

US taxpayers financed McCain’s 7-day-long funeral extravaganza, which the media intentionally dragged out in order to trash Trump. I want a refund.https://t.co/wiAx09DV28

President Trump is not the first Commander in Chief to forgo his Presidential Salary.
- George Washington (term 1789-1797) refused to accept a salary. At his first inauguration, George Washington added the “so help me God” to the end of the oath of office.
- Herbert Hoover (1929-1933) donated all of his presidential salary to charity and was the first of all presidents to do so. When he first got into politics, he decided to never accept money for performing any public service, so that no one would ever accuse him of corruption.
- John F. Kennedy (1961-1963) donated his salary to charity.
President Trump, however, is the first to be damned for doing so. Twitter user Rachel Stanhope pretty much sums up how Liberals, Socialists (who should applaud his Benjamin sharing) and Democrats feel. Damned if he does. Damned if he don’t.
Trump will donate his presidential salary to charity, but he’s still a bad person.. ?
