WASHINGTON, August 31, 2017 — During today’s White House briefing, President and Mrs. Trump will be donating $1,000,000 to Hurricane Harvey flood relief. When pressed whether the donation would come from the Trump Foundation or the President directly, WH Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said that she believes the donation would come from the President, not the foundation.

The Trumps visited storm-stricken Texas on Tuesday, which is now dealing with the after effects of the diminished storm, including widespread flooding.

“We want to do it better than ever before,” Trump said Tuesday during a briefing on Hurricane Harvey relief efforts in Corpus Christi, Texas. “We want to be looked at in five years and 10 years from now as, this is the way to do it. This was of epic proportion. No one has ever seen anything like this.”

This is not the first time that the Trumps have stepped up to help others. In 2016 during the historic floods in Louisiana, Greenwell Springs Baptist Church confirmed that it had received a $100,000 personal check from Donald Trump.
