WASHINGTON: As the Venezuelan nation collapses under the weight of democratic socialism, it’s time we Americans take a stroll down memory lane.
Podcast: More Than Right on The collapse of the Venezuelan nation
Transcript
Back in 2016, fake-news CNN’s Anderson Cooper asked Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders if it was possible for a socialist to win a national election in America. He, naturally, said yes. It was just a matter of educating the nation’s ignorant masses.
“And what democratic socialism is about is saying that it is immoral wrong that the top one-tenth of one percent in this country own almost 90 percent – own almost as much wealth as the bottom 90 percent. That it is wrong today, in a rigged economy, that 57 percent of all the income is going to the top one percent.”
And that’s certainly the thinking among America’s educated idiots – a.k.a., millennials. A 2018 survey released by The Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation, which questioned 23,000 Americans, found that among millennials:
- 44% preferred to live in a socialist society
- 7% in a fascist nation
- And another 7% under a communist system
This elicited a spirited response from the Paris correspondent for TRT World News, Craig Copetas.
“There’s no bonehead idea so stupid that you can’t get at least 22 percent of the Millennial crowd to believe in it. And that’s what this is.
“Ah, these numbers are pretty ridicules and they’re base on a lot of people talking about things they don’t know about. Let me tell you about communism in two short sentences:
‘Communism is not love. Communism is a hammer, which we use to crush the enemy.’
“That was Mao Zedong. Now, you want to be free, Millennials?
‘Well, it’s true that liberty is precious. In fact, it’s so precious that it must be rationed.’
“That was Vladimir Lenin.
“Ah, wow. I’m, I’m, I’m just astonished by this. But remember, an idea is not responsible for the people who believe in it.”
Recognizing Juan Guaidó
Recently, the United States recognized Juan Guaidó, of Venezuela’s National Assembly, as that nation’s interim president. US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo made that announcement before Turtle Bay’s hive of scum and villainy – the United Nations Security Council.
“We’ve watched Venezuelans suffer for far too long. We know what they know: that the tyranny of the now-defunct Maduro regime has, for far too long, choked the country and its citizens.
“Yesterday, in solidarity with the Venezuelan people, and out of respect for Venezuelan democracy, the United State proudly recognized National Assembly President Juan Guaidó as the interim president of Venezuela.
“The time for debate is done. The regime of former President Nicolas Maduro is illegitimate. His regime is morally bankrupt, It’s economically incompetent, and it is profoundly corrupt.
“It is undemocratic to the core. I repeat, regime of former President Nicolas Maduro is illegitimate.”
This did not sit well with some noisy American Millennials.
Those who demonstrated against the Trump administration’s actions outside the Venezuelan embassy, as captured by News 2 Share:
Demonstrator 1: “Trump is a dictator! Trump is a fascist!
Demonstrator 2: “Trump lost the popular vote!”
Demonstrator 1: “And he’s the one dictating our thoughts? I say no! Maduro, si! Trump, no! Maduro, Si! Trump, no! No to intervention! Peace for Venezuela! No to intervention! Peace for Venezuela!”
It’s nice to know that one semester of high school Spanish came in handy for this crowd of extremely white and well-dressed millennials.
And did you notice that under the screeching female’s denunciations of Trump as a fascist, you can hear another voice remind us that the president lost the popular vote in 2016?
You would think that represents a dark mark against America’s constitutional order.
That’s because millennials are an ignorant lot. Our Constitution is vehemently anti-democratic and therefore the antithesis of democratic socialism. The Electoral College, whose votes decide who sits in the Oval Office, is designed to protect the nation from the passions of the mob.
And the First Amendment to our Constitution’s Bill of Rights – which protects freedom of speech, freedom of the press and our right to worship unmolested by the minions of the state – begins with the five most beautiful words in the English language:
“Congress shall make no law…”
In other words, democracy be damned, the higher principle in these United States is individual liberty. And the political majority and their duly-elected representatives can take a flying leap if they don’t like it. And that goes double for democratic socialists like the doddering old Bernie Sanders.
And that reminds me.
Old socialist Bernie insisted to CNN’s Anderson Cooper…
“It is wrong today, in a rigged economy, that 57 percent of all the income is going to the top one percent.”
Speaking of rigged economies, a 2013 Daily Telegraph exposé on President Nicolas Maduro’s socialist predecessor, Hugo Chavez, discovered that his family owned 17 country estates, totaling 100,000 acres of prime Venezuelan land. Oh, and they also stashed around $550 million of ill-gotten gains in overseas bank accounts.
Today, the average Venezuelan earns a measly $12.53 a month. And that doesn’t go very far in a nation with an inflation rate of – wait for it – 1 million percent.
But Venezuela’s democratic socialist Nicolas Maduro has somehow managed to amass a personal fortune of 2 million bucks. And he earns a monthly salary of $4,000.
And you might ask, what is Bernie Sander’s net worth? Coincidentally, he too is worth a cool 2 million simoleons.
The tortured victims of Venezuela’s rigged economy have a term for these well-heeled democratic socialists, one whose irony will certainly go over the heads of feebleminded millennials.
They’re called the “revolutionary bourgeoisie.”
Does anyone ever tell the FBI the truth?
It seems a long line is forming outside our federal courts by those indicted on the process crime of “lying to the FBI.”
The latest being long-time Trump supporter and conservative gadfly, Roger Stone.
Such indictments usually mean the target of prosecution is somehow associated with President Donald Trump and has no information linking him to Russia’s supposed plot to sow discord among Americans, hack our elections, and – finally and more horribly – deny the presidency to the nation’s preordained first female president.
Speaking of Hillary Clinton
Speaking of Hillary Clinton, she too was interviewed by the FBI regarding her illegal handling of sensitive State Department emails. Emails she kept on her un-secure, private home server. Emails, many of which were destroyed when it was announced she was the subject of an FBI investigation.
On July 2, 2016, Hillary Clinton was interviewed by the FBI.
The following day, while on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Clinton told host Chuck Todd she “never received nor sent any material that was marked classified.”
It could only be assumed she told the FBI the same lie. I say it’s a lie without any fear of contradiction because the FBI later revealed Hillary Clinton had mishandled 113 such classified emails.
Four days after Clinton gave her statement to the FBI, then-FBI Director James Comey told Congress his agency’s six inquisitors did not require Mrs. Clinton to take an oath, to tell the truth. Oh, and the interview was not recorded.
But Comey assured Congress, “I don’t think the agents assessed she was evasive.”
That short sentence is of major significance.
You see, General Michael Flynn, President Trump’s former national security adviser, was himself indicted for, what else, lying to the FBI. But the FBI’s former deputy director, Andrew McCabe, later testified to the House Intelligence Committee that the two FBI agents who interviewed Flynn, regarding his meeting with a top Russian diplomat, “didn’t think he was lying.”
Flynn was indicted anyway.
But the FBI made a very public spectacle of announcing that Clinton would not be indicted for violating the Espionage Act, least of all for lying to the FBI. This despite the FBI’s later discovery of several classified State Department emails in the laptop of longtime Clinton aide, Huma Abadine.
They were discovered nestled among compromising photos of disgraced former Congressman Anthony Weiner, Abadine’s husband – himself the target of an FBI investigation into his sexting with underage girls.
Back to the FBI
Getting back to the FBI’s fired former deputy director Andrew McCabe, it’s alleged he lied to, who else, the FBI regarding his leaks to the media. Will McCabe receive the Clinton or Flynn treatment?
The grand jury is still out on that question.
“I’m in for the fight of my life but I will not quit,” says the indicted Roger Stone to Tucker Carlson of Fox News. “I will not fold. I will not bend. I will not bear false witness against the president. I intend to fight because this indictment is fabricated. This indictment is thin as can be.”
That is likely the case, but beside the point.
The FBI will financially ruin any target associated with President Trump. Especially those who will not, as Stone correctly observed, “bear false witness against the president.”
These procedural indictments, in the end, are nothing less than mechanisms for the subornation of perjury.
A weapon in the agency’s all-out war with President Trump and the “basket of deplorables” who chose him over the FBI’s preferred presidential candidate of 2016 – the princess of prevarication.
