WASHINGTON, January 19, 2014 — Senators Mitch McConnell (R – KY) and Rand Paul (R – KY) are co – sponsoring the Economic Freedom Zones Act to install free market conditions in areas currently suffering economically.
While the idea behind the Act is laudable, the concept exposes the hypocrisy of socio – political systems. This is true not only in the United States, but all over the world.
Firstly, the need for these special economic zones exposes the battle between tyranny and liberty, and that for material progress liberty is a far superior concept. For example, when Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping initiated free market zones in Guangzhou and surrounding areas, he knew that tyranny does not work, he effectively admitted that tyranny did not work. If he knew this, why not have the whole country as a zone of freedom?
Social programmers miss the fundamental consideration of individual choice. They seek to designate roles for people instead of allowing people to choose roles for themselves. A social programmer has one aim in mind, to protect his masters from competition legally and psychologically, so that entire groups grow up believing specific professions are allocated only for certain types of individuals. They absolutely oppose the concept of liberty.
For free economic zones to be effective, the people must also be free. Only lowering taxes will allow some level of success, but they will not excel the same way they will if people are given individual freedoms.
Just systems bring about just results, while unjust systems bring unjust results. Social programmers ignore historical facts and pretend not to see the ever-present forces willing to overthrow injustice. These forces now people thrive when they are not hampered by tyranny.
Freedom is when one is free to do as others do. A culture of freedom is when others accept your freedom to do as they do. Ultimately, freedom comes down to what one can do legally and culturally.
Few actually appreciate the repressive mind behind the bank bailouts and quantitative easing program of the Federal Reserve, which is really a theft for future generations..
Free market zones in stable countries will lead to higher real incomes in those zones. In simple terms, free market zones allow the laws of economics to operate rather than the laws of serfdom or laws of plunder. In free market zones, for there to be success, laws of economics must apply.
Economics has laws like other disciplines. These laws are built on logic, like all other laws of existence. If there is too much of something, prices will fall. If there is too much money, it loses its value. Each unit of currency purchases less and less. Honest money does not fear deflation, and it can deal with inflation without some central authority.
A society can only get a clear picture of all potential supply if whoever wants to supply a good or service is allowed to provide it. The system does not protect certain suppliers of goods or services; that is serfdom, medieval thinking. There is no interference with the supply and demand side of the economy, allowing equality before the law. You cannot at the same time support equality before the law and support fascism, whereby corporations and governments blend, you cannot support doctrine of serfdom and freedom at the same time.
Rather than establishing forced Free Trade Zones, government should reduce the size of the overall bureaucracy, the overall tyranny, and allow economic freedom throughout the country.
Reduce the power of government and bureaucracy over the people so that the people, and the economy, are truly free.
