SEATTLE, July 16, 2015 — Media analyst Mark Dice is known for asking baited questions in his “man on the street” videos. In one recent video, he asks people whether they support “President Obama’s executive order” to have the “racist monument of Mount Rushmore” torn down.
The question is based on a false premise, but what’s interesting and rather disheartening is the ignorance of most of those interviewed.
Dice does this in light of the recent fervor surrounding the Confederate flag and calls to remove it from the public square, along with other Confederate landmarks and names of schools.
One black gentleman replies, “pretty cool,” but then admits to not knowing where Mount Rushmore is located.
Another man exclaims, “S**t, I don’t know, you can pay me, I’ll do it, I need money – I’ll knock that f***ing mountain down.”
While the video pokes fun at the vast ignorance that seems to have our nation in a choke-hold at the moment, it also demonstrates how disconnected many people are from current events and how leftists in this country are finding just about every way imaginable to divide us.
Editors Note: For the record, neither Abraham Lincoln or President Roosevelt owned slaves. Both Presidents Washington and Jefferson worked hard to end slavery and free their slaves; Unfortunately they were thwarted by the laws of the day that would have made a freed slave a target for unscrupulous slave owners.
