GIVAT SHMUEL, Israel, March 24, 2015 — It’s important to note that the famous line from George Orwell’s Animal Farm, the oft-cited “All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others,” originates from the pigs who control the government.
If Barack Obama, and the rest of liberal America, were to be believed, this racist decree would more likely have been a product of the religious right or, according to the party line this week, the prime minister of Israel.
After Benjamin Netanyahu was re-elected by the Israeli people March 17, Obama did exactly what he has been doing since he took up his post in the Oval Office: punishing the Jewish state for being a democracy.
Obama has proven time and again that democracy is nothing more than a nuisance to him, a stumbling block to the wondrous destiny he was put on this earth to fulfill. This can simply be seen by the fact that his administration has spent more time investigating in which state to build the Obama library (may I humbly suggest Iran) than it has on the Sept. 11 terrorist attack on the US Embassy in Benghazi or the actual effects Obamacare was going to have on the American people. His constant “pen and a phone” rants, threatening to circumvent Congress at every possible junction, further shows his disdain for the democratic process.
It’s is important to note that America is not the only country that suffers due to Obama’s scorn for the will of the people. Israel, the only democracy in the entire Middle East, has become public enemy No. 1 in the eyes of the Obama White House, and it appears it is exactly due to its democratic distinction.
Even before delving into the most recent sniping between the two countries surrounding Netanyahu’s re-election last week, the case could have been made that Obama punished Israel for being a democracy.
When it was first announced that Netanyahu wanted to come to America to address the current negotiations between the P5+1 and Iran, the White House refused to meet with the Israeli PM, claiming, “as a matter of long-standing practice and principle, we do not see heads of state or candidates in close proximity to their elections, so as to avoid the appearance of influencing a democratic election in a foreign country.”
Forget that this canned response is a bald-faced lie, as the Times of Israel broke in January that, “in 1996, prime minister Shimon Peres, fighting a close campaign against challenger Netanyahu, visited the Clinton White House on April 30, just less than a month ahead of the May 29 elections.” Instead, consider who Obama is willing to welcome to Washington.
In March 2014, Obama welcomed Palestinian Authority “President” Mahmoud Abbas to the White House. In fact, Abbas, the man who has admitted on television to sending terrorists to kill innocent Jews, has been nothing but a champion of peace, according to Obama and John Kerry. At the opening to his meeting with Abbas, Obama said, “I have to commend President Abbas. He has been somebody who has consistently renounced violence, has consistently sought a diplomatic and peaceful solution that allows for two states, side by side, in peace and security; a state that allows for the dignity and sovereignty of the Palestinian people and a state that allows for Israelis to feel secure and at peace with their neighbors.”
Now ask yourself why you can’t remember the newspaper headline declaring electoral victory for Mahmoud Abbas. In fact, why isn’t anyone comparing Obama’s delay in calling Netanyahu to congratulate him on his re-election to the speed with which Obama called Abbas to praise him on his? Wouldn’t that be the most logical comparison?
The reason is that the last time Mahmoud Abbas was democratically elected to lead the Palestinian people, Barack Obama was still a state senator! Obama and Kerry’s last great hope for peace, Mahmoud Abbas, is currently in his 11th year of a four-year term! Why have Obama and Kerry not called on Abbas to hold elections before peace talks are to be resumed? In fact, this would appear to be a critical condition for any deal being signed, considering that if Abbas does not truly represent the will of the Palestinian people anymore, any agreement he signs will not be worth the paper it’s written on.
However, despite his utter disregard for the democratic process, Mahmoud Abbas remains in the good graces of Barack Obama, while Benjamin Netanyahu, chosen leader of the chosen people, finds himself in yet a bigger Pennsylvania Avenue dog house.
Obama and Kerry’s last great hope for peace, Mahmoud Abbas, is currently in his 11th year of a four-year term!
Another entity Obama has actively shielded while lambasting Bibi is the Iranian regime. In his fanatical pursuit of a bad deal with Iran, the largest trophy Obama has earmarked for his mantle, (whether or not the walls surrounding said mantle are blown to bits by a nuclear ICBM) the president has embraced one of the greatest enemies of democracy in history. In fact, just last week Obama removed Iran and Hezbollah from the U.S. designated terrorist organization list!
There is not enough space in the world to write about the endless human rights violations carried out by the Iranian government on a daily basis, but a quotation from a piece by Elliot Abrams in National Review may suffice. Abrams writes, “Obama’s lecturing Israel, the region’s only real democracy, two days after a totally free election, is quite amazing — considering that in June 2009, for example, he stayed dead silent while the ayatollahs crushed the Green Movement and its demands for democracy in Iran. Many people consider Netanyahu’s remark unwise or offensive for various reasons, but the Obama interpretation is illogical and indefensible.”
Many, including myself, have accused Barack Obama of being an anti-Semite. Talk radio superstar Mark Levin said as much on the Sean Hannity Show just last week. However, if you refuse to believe that the leader of the free world hates Jews, then at the very least it must be concluded that he hates that the Jewish state is a democracy.
Obama has and will continue to punish Benjamin Netanyahu for being elected by the will of the people. The only solace to be had is that democracy will get the last laugh. Thanks to the American and Israeli democratic processes, Netanyahu will be in office far after Obama has run off to his island of self-congratulation, where he can spend the rest of his days shutting his eyes and ears to the destruction he has brought upon the American people and the world.
For all lovers of democracy, those days cannot come soon enough.Click here for reuse options!
