Obama, Harris-Perry, and climate scientists: 2014 already nonsense

Written By | Jan 7, 2014

LOS ANGELES, January 7, 2014—It seems that 2014 is already a year dedicated to nonsense rather than real news. The media has gotten more stories wrong in a shorter time span than usual, and shows no signs of improving. Iran is building a bomb, Syria is committing genocide,  Americans are losing their healthcare, and the real economy is sinking despite an artificially inflated stock market. When George W. Bush was in charge, rising gasoline prices were more than just trivial matters meant to be ignored. Now that people have been conditioned to accept the “new normal,” expect more failures, more excuses, and more media stories about complete nonsense. The “news” stories these past few days have been staggeringly useless.

The return of President Barack Obama—Rather than return from his lengthy holiday vacation in a pleasant mood, Obama attacked the GOP for taking their holiday vacation. Talk about the pothead calling the kettle African-American. Obama’s life has been a 52-year vacation. The only time any meaningful action takes place is when he is removed from the process. The recent budget deal between Paul Ryan and Patty Murray took place precisely because Obama was not there to speak about issues where he has zero knowledge or experience. The adults got to work while he played. The fact that he returned to not do whatever it is he does not do is irrelevant.

President Pothead—Obama did consume plenty of illegal recreational pharmaceuticals as a young man, but he earns this nickname not for his past behavior. While no evidence exists that he still smokes marijuana, he is going out of his way to promote drug use among everybody else. Attorney General Eric Holder is refusing to enforce drug laws that he deems overly harsh. His Department of Justice is reluctant to prosecute drug crimes.

More importantly, the turning of Colorado into a giant fraternity party of stoners plays perfectly into Obama’s hands. A stoned populace is a pliant populace. Lucid people question their government. Those who just want to get high are more likely to accept other dangerous government actions. In the same way spreading welfare creates a culture of dependency, spreading drug use creates a culture of laziness.

Constant stories questioning how life events effect Obama—Will Obama have a better 2014 than 2013? Will world events help him and Hillary Clinton or hurt them? Who the heck cares? The issue is whether anything can be done to help the American people. Hillary makes millions on the lecture circuit. So will Obama in 2017. It is not about them. It is about us. We the American people are hurting. How he feels is a non-story for everyone except the fourth estate fawners.

Not every ounce of nonsense is directly related to Obama. Much of the rest of it comes from his staunchest supporters.

MSNBC, the network for bigots—Each week brings a new round of lunacy at the network where bigotry is acceptable so long as it is ideological. Melissa Harris-Perry attacked Mitt Romney’s adopted grandson solely because the child is black. Only days after Alec Baldwin and Martin Bashir were removed for acting like typical MSNBC employees, Harris-Perry had nothing better to do than spread highly paid venom. Her crocodile tears apology was offered upon being reminded that she had a cushy one-percenter job.

What she meant to say was that the next time she launches an ideologically bigoted tirade against conservatives and Republicans, she will make sure all the victims of her bile are white, male, and adult.

Rachel Maddow spends her every waking minute obsessing over the Koch Brothers for being conservative and legally participating in the political process. She ran a story claiming that they were funding a movement to drug-test welfare recipients.

The story was false, yet she refuses to issue a retraction. Her own parent company Comcast has ties to the companies in question. Even if the false story was true, what is wrong with wanting to drug-test welfare recipients? Will the left claim this is racist? Do they think welfare is a black issue?

Yet the biggest story in this January silly season involved a bunch of  people who got what they deserved.

Climate scientists traveling into an ice storm—In an attempt to prove global warming, they were trapped in the ice and needed to be rescued.

Certain questions need to be asked, and the liberal media will never ask them.

Will these scientists be forced to reimburse taxpayers for rescuing them? Rescue missions are not free. When Al Sharpton aided in the Tawana Brawley hoax, he was ordered to pay for the law enforcement time and manpower wasted. This is no different. If climate change hucksters want to go on the subzero version of Gilligan’s Island’s S.S. Minnow, why should the rest of us pay to save them? If liberals hate bailouts for Wall Street plutocrats, why are bailouts for greeniac plutocrats any more noble?

The climate change debate can be settled easily with a much cheaper experiment. Take a liberal climate change advocate (any liberal will do, actually) and remove the self-righteous stick from their hide. Remove all the liberal “stuff” from it, test the temperature of it and publish whether it is cooling, warming, or the same. This crude model costs less than funding Solyndra and provides results that are just as accurate and conclusive as any failed government models currently being used.

The world is on fire, the global economy is teetering on the brink, and much of the media seems determined to turn America into a nation of imbeciles. America can never win the War on Terror if we do not first win the war against nonsense.
