WASHINGTON, DC, March 2, 2015 — The second day of the 2015 AIPAC Conference was all about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin “Bibi” Netanyahu. There were other occurrences, but they were delegated to the margins.
Bibi started the day, wowed the crowd, spoke with clarity, and checkmated an American president desperate for the slightest foreign policy victory.
President Obama pulled out all the stops to prevent Bibi from speaking to Congress. The AIPAC address was merely the speech about the speech. The red meat in front of the joint session of Congress is what has Obama in a state of apoplexy.
The story behind the story is a simple one.
Obama has an absolute hostility toward anyone and anything he cannot control. His answer to every problem is more power for him. it angers him that he cannot tell the prime minister of Israel how to best protect Israel. It infuriates Obama that he cannot tell Congress who Congress can invite to speak before Congress.
Obama supporters invented a fake crisis about violations of protocol, but the kerfuffle over the speech was nothing more than the president refusing to mind his own business. He is refusing to meet with Netanyahu, as if that was a punishment rather than a relief for Bibi. Meetings with Obama are often a waste of time because of his refusal to listen to ideas that diverge from his own predetermined opinions.
One of the reasons Obama picked this fight was his obsessive desire to dominate every topic of every news cycle. With his presidency winding down, he is lashing out in a desperate attempt to avoid lame duck syndrome. The more he is ignored, the angrier he gets.
Obama has never liked Netanyahu, but had to wait until after the 2012 election to vent his rage. now the tables are turned. The more Obama attacks Bibi, the more Bibi rises in the polls.
Lost in all the political machinations is the most serious policy issue of our lives. For those on the left, that does not mean global warming. For those in the real world, Iran is trying to build nuclear bombs so they can wipe Israel off of the map and out of existence. The goal is to kill every Jew. Little Satan Israel is the first target. The big prize for Iran is to eliminate the Great Satan America.
As Netanyahu rightly told the AIPAC crowd, American leaders worry about the security of their nation. Israeli leaders worry about the survival of their nation.
The mullahs in Iran are deadly serious. So is Bibi. Obama is not. if he was, he would not waste the world’s time with meaningless meetings that seem to take place solely to create the image of the Commander in Chief doing something.
Obama’s Iran policy has failed. The American people know this. The civilized world has rallied to Netanyahu’s side. The mullahs are treating Obama and his State Departments like the “useful idiots” Lenin used to mock. Obama kept insisting that he would stand up for Israel, but Obama has already abandoned allies and allowed aggressors to run wild. Russia gobbled up Crimea with zero pushback. Netanyahu knows Obama is too weak and ineffectual to do much of anything as he loses influence by the day.
Bibi had to take his case to the American people because Obama will not. House Speaker John Boehner had to invite him. Obama does not just want to regulate the Internet. He wants to suppress all speech that personally bothers him.
Luckily for the free world, Bibi told Obama to sit down, be quiet, and let the adults speak. Like North Dakota oil, the halls of Congress are beyond Obama’s regulatory clutches. Bibi won on the politics because he had already won on the substance of the policy argument. Obama had the liberal media elites. Bibi has the people.
Bibi checkmated Obama.
The alternative would be Iran checkmating them both. Outside of Obama, Iran and their apocalyptic supporters, nobody wants this. An American messiah and his friends waiting for the 12th Imam have not helped destroy the world yet. In the nick of time, a hero emerged from the Land of Milk and Honey to save us all.Click here for reuse options!
