WASHINGTON, March 7, 2016 – Outrageous national debt. Violations of constitutional rights. Presidential abuse of power.
These are just a few of the seeds that are promoting the growth of more patriots in this country.
The online dictionary, Dictionary.com, defines a patriot as “a person who loves, supports, and defends his or her country and its interests with devotion; a person who regards himself or herself as a defender, especially of individual rights, against presumed interference by the federal government.”
Patriotism is re-awakening in America.
Americans are finally waking up to the fact that their country is in grave danger. No longer are they seeing the future as a promised land of opportunities for their children. No longer do they feel protected by their rights as Americans. They feel intimidated by an over-sized and untrustworthy government. They no longer see the American dream that used to be. They are becoming aware of what must be done to revive and protect their home. And they are willing to fight for it.
This protection covers a vast area of needed repairs and reinforcements. There is hole in the financial well- being of this country. Like a leaking roof in an old home, the problems must be fixed immediately. Responsibility must be taken. An end must be put to spending. The fiscal gap – the unfunded debt owed by the government—is far greater than the national debt of over $18 trillion. It currently stands at approximately $211 trillion.
Constitutional rights are being mocked. The attempts to change critical amendments are becoming more commonplace. Each attempt to chisel away at these “rights” promotes more anger and mistrust.
And that anger and mistrust have prompted many patriots to take an oath to uphold and maintain those rights, such as the “Oath Keepers.”
The upcoming election has proven to be of vital importance. The urgent state this nation is
in means its survival will depend greatly on who the next president will be. Many Americans are finally paying attention to the candidates themselves and not just their party affiliations. They are researching facts and past records. They are analyzing the impact that each candidate will have in both domestic and foreign issues and problems. They know what must be done. And they know whom they want to get it done.
Patriots know that a person of honesty and integrity is a must in America’s next leader. Someone who understands the meaning of “We the people.” Someone who will not only uphold the Constitution but promote its entire content. The American people demand a leader who will not shrink from his or her responsibility to protect the citizens from all foreign enemies. They want a leader who will step up to the plate and begin resolving the mistakes made by previous administrations, without finger-pointing, name- calling and blaming.
The final outcome of this election depends solely on the voters. Patriots know that decisions must be made based on the candidates’ past records and the plans laid out to resolve each issue. Forget about partisan claims of being the only way to solve problems.
Voters are looking for plans to bring this nation back from its current path of destruction, plans that must prove beneficial for all Americans, plans that put the government back into the hands of the people.
But above all else, the honesty and integrity that the patriots demand are essential. It solidifies the foundation of their belief in “one nation, under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all.”
