Military directives in Europe may be dire warning for the future

CHARLOTTE, N.C., November 19, 2014 — Anyone who has ever visited the American Cemetery at Omaha Beach in Normandy, France knows all too well what a hallowed place it is.

For all the grief the French receive about being rude to foreigners, there is one place you will never see the French disrespect what their Western allies did to liberate them from Adolf Hitler’s tyranny in June of 1944.

So strong are the feelings among the French people living in Normandy that when the U.S. shut down the government last year, including the cemeteries in foreign lands, the French were far and away the most vocal about keeping those grounds open.

Imagine how distraught the fighting men who invaded Normandy some 70 years ago to begin the liberation of Europe would be to learn that soldiers in the allied nations of Western Europe have now been told not to wear their uniforms in public in Europe.

That is nothing short of capitulation to an enemy which President Barack Obama has called “jayvee.” It means there is growing fear for the safety of military personnel when they are away from their bases because they could be slaughtered in the streets like British soldier Lee Rigby. Rigby was beheaded in broad daylight on a London street by an Islamic extremist.

The directive also means that Muslim populations are growing at a rapid rate throughout Europe and rather than fight, Europeans are giving in to Islamic pressure and supremacism.

American soldiers, the sons, daughters and grandchildren of thousands who died on the beaches of Normandy, are no longer allowed to wear their uniforms. What does that say about the way times have changed and what does it tell us about the outlook for Western civilization when it comes to combating global terrorism?

According to Sky News, U.S. military personnel have been ordered not to wear their uniforms when they are off base and they have been advised to keep their social media communications to a minimum to ensure their safety and obscure their whereabouts. The directive affects approximately 70,000 U.S. service members.

The order was issued on November 10, ironically, the Marines Corps’ 239th anniversary, after three American sailors were attacked in Istanbul, Turkey when they were not in uniform.

Meanwhile, an important treaty was recently passed with the highest endorsement by Obama which, for all intents, is the kiss of death for national sovereignty in Europe. The Lisbon Treaty, which has gone totally unreported by European mainstream media, is a deal between Europe and North Africa ensuring greater cooperation to the extent that the Mediterranean Sea becomes a “domestic Eurabian sea.”

A European human rights group known as Stop the Islamization of Europe (SIOE) has been working feverishly to create awareness throughout the continent about the mass Islamic immigration plan of the Euro-Med Partnership.

SIOE claims the goal of the alliance is for “Europe … to be Islamized. Democracy, Christianity, European culture and Europeans are to be driven out of Europe. Fifty million North Africans from Muslim countries are to be imported into the EU.”

Even today that idea sounds far-fetched, yet in light of the upcoming immigration plan which Obama will announce today and implement by executive order, and considering that similar actions allowing free movement between Europe and Africa are already in progress, the proposal does not appear so outlandish after all.

Economists in Brussels believe that Britain and other EU states require 56 million immigrant workers to stop a demographic decline resulting from the diminishing birthrates of European societies.

Already Muslims in many parts of Europe have begun demanding special privileges. Such demands are merely part of the traditional Islamic playbook when it comes to gaining power and control over its enemies.

Rather than fight the opposition and reject the growing Islamic cancer on the populations of the West, we counter by telling our highly trained military personnel not to wear their uniforms in public as a matter of safety.

As Pamela Geller of Atlas Shrugs asks, “Will we shut down our bases in Europe because jihadists could target them and blow them up?”

Time will tell, but given current prevailing attitudes, Ms. Geller is right on target.
