HONOLULU: In the latest celebration of George Orwell, Two Minutes Hate against thought-criminals Jon Tester and James Comey is deferred for the purposes of denouncing Michelle Wolf, a “so-called comedian who wasn’t funny at all” who dared to insult the Trump Administration. In case you didn’t watch or have the privilege of attending the annual Nerd Prom, the White House Correspondents (WHCD) can be summed up in a single sentence:
“Elites offended elites, and slaves were offended on their behalf.”
Traditionally, the WHCD is an opportunity for the incumbent president to engage in tongue-in-cheek, self-deprecating humor. In the absence of the president making fun of himself, the media graciously took it upon themselves to make fun of the Trump Administration on his behalf.
Supposedly, listening to a shrill-voiced, motor-mouthed, makeup-plastered, insult-spewing, ignorant woman moralize on politics and culture for the course of an evening is difficult to bear. But enough about Tomi Lahren. (barrumppp).
At the WHCD, Wolf savaged the sacred cows of the White House with vulgar insults and profanity that drove some arch conservatives to walk out on the event.
A scarifical Wolf?
Consider, however, the absurdity of the conservative outrage against Wolf:
-The average American gains nothing by supporting either the conservatives or the liberals. They’re both the elites, and Americans – who see the dollar depreciating and the national debt left to their children skyrocketing – no matter who is in office are the slaves. The real joke is on you, America.
-If Wolf had delivered an invective during Obama’s presidency and shamed Democratic White House officials, Tea Partiers would call her a “patriot who tells it like it is” and Wolf would be given a speaking slot at CPAC.
-Had President Trump been present at the WHCD, he would have been delivering all the jokes and would have had a captive audience to insult as he pleased. Instead, he let his staff face the liberal sharks on their own, sending a woman to take hits on his behalf. (Though Sarah Huckabee Sanders is more than capable).
-President Trump routinely targets people on Twitter, referring to them as “sons of bitches” and engaging in a modern version of kuridaitcha bone-pointing by assigning slanderous nicknames to political rivals. However, when he or his administration are treated in kind, both Trump and his supporters squeal about the lack of civility or decency in politics.
Conservative’s loss of civic virtue
Conservatives, once home to America’s most thoughtful, discerning, and honorable political faction, have lost all sense of smell when it comes to civic virtue. When a total stranger accuses you of being something you’re not, the correct emotional response is to laugh.
That conservatives were so offended by Wolf’s jokes suggests almost a Freudian vulnerability – “zero chill” as the Millennials say – stemming from a kernel of truth to every accusation made by critics.
I would suggest Republicans pick up a copy of Dr. Philip Zimbardo’s Stanford University prison experiment debrief, and see how America, led by animal savages, has become a nation of animal savages.
You can’t honestly sit in a swamp and credibly act surprised when bitten by mosquitoes. When the president acts like an undignified bully, he should expect society to mimic him as the ultimate flattery.
The Wolf Bomb
Conservatives say that Wolf’s comedy act “bombed.” In that sense, they are totally correct. Wolf’s words bombed the infrastructure of a repressive regime.
Of course, conservative snowflakes will make every effort to say that Wolf’s vulgar words struck milk factories (extracted from sacred Republican political cows), but the truth is, Wolf hit legitimate military targets used for propaganda and weapons of mass deception.
Liberals drew a red line, and enforced that line.
But don’t worry, offended snowflakes. The WHCD happens only once a year, so these kinds of bombing runs are just a one-time shot.
Or are they?
