LOS ANGELES, November 7, 2014 — The Democratic Party, its leader of the Executive Branch, and its cheerleaders in the liberal media have become unhinged. The bloodbath Democrats suffered in the 2014 election was wide, long and deep. Democrats lost coast to coast and everywhere in the middle. The day after the debacle, Obama had the chance to show he was capable of introspection.
Instead, he lashed out at the notion that the election was a repudiation of him.
Desperate Democrats did what they tend to do when confronted with electoral pain. They accused Republicans of bigotry while making bigoted comments of their own. Democrats continued their mythical argument that the GOP was waging a “war on women.”
Beyond that came the typical accusations of racism, sexism, and homophobia.
- The Democrat running for Governor of South Carolina called Republican Nikki Haley a “whore.” Haley won.
- South Carolina Republican Senator Tim Scott was easily reelected despite the typical attacks that he was not authentically black.
- Retiring Democrat Senator Tom Harkin of Iowa took a cheap shot at Republican Joni Ernst regarding her looks. She won.
- Democrat Senator Mary Landrieu of Louisiana blamed her poor showing in the polls on Southern racism. She is on the ropes and a major Democrat ad buy for her has been canceled.
All across the country Democrats warned that electing Republicans would result in black churches burning, black youths being murdered, gays being stoned to death, and women being beaten in the streets. As of two days after the election, not a single elected Republican had robbed, beaten, raped or murdered any minorities.
One day after Obama’s self-pitying remarks, Boehner showed what adult leadership looks like. Boehner immediately obliterated the notion that Republicans ran a do-nothing Congress. Boehner vowed to push forward the “Keystone Pipeline” and “restore the 40-hour work week that has been gutted by Obamacare.” Boehner offered a specific five-point governing agenda that contained substantive policy goals.
Boehner wants to “fix our broken tax code,” “fix the debt,” “reform our legal system,” “reshape our regulatory policy,” and “give parents more choices” with regards to schools.
None of his proposals involved taking Jews and subjecting them to another Kristallnacht, although Democrat strategists may find a way to connect those dots. Boehner made it clear who has been doing nothing.
“Finding common ground is hard work, but it will be even harder if the president isn’t willing to work with us.”
Boehner pointed out that there are “46 jobs bills sitting in the United States Senate.”
President Obama threatened executive action on immigration reform. Boehner said that “If he acts unilaterally, he will poison the well.”
On the Affordable Care Act, Boehner reflected the mood of the 2014 electorate.
“Obamacare is hurting our economy, it is hurting middle class families, and it is hurting the ability for employers to create more jobs.”
Boehner offered real solutions, many of which have bipartisan support from everyone except Obama. Solutions include “repealing the medical device tax,” getting rid of the “IPAB,” the “rationing board.” Boehner also asked, “How about the individual mandate?”
Boehner made it clear that the liberal narrative of preserving Obamacare and “coming together” was not going to come at the expense of good policy.
“The American people made it clear they are not for Obamacare. Ask all those Democrats who lost their elections Tuesday night.”
“My job is not to get along with the president just to get along with him.”
At this point Boehner had the opportunity to claim that the GOP wanted to bring back slavery, stone women in the town square as done in Saudi Arabia, and require Jews to pay a tax to Muslims. None of these words ever uttered his lips.
Despite Boehner’s seriousness of purpose, the ideological bigotry that has infected the Democrat party and its media allies shows no sign of subsiding. Questions about a litany of sober policy proposals took a back seat to another liberal activist playing reporter.
Nancy Cordes of CBS News showed why the mainstream media is held in even lower esteem than Congress.
“Mr. Speaker, you have a new crop of conservatives coming into the House that have suggested among other things that women need to submit to the authority of their husbands, that Hillary Clinton is the anti-Christ, and that the families of Sandy Hook victims should get over it. How do you deal with them differently than in the last election?”
Edward R. Murrow may be weeping in heaven somewhere, but Cordes actually looked surprised and even perturbed when Boehner took exception with the premise of her question.
Despite her attempt to ask repeated offensive follow-up questions, there was not enough time for her to ask Boehner whether he felt Republicans should behead gays, Jews, blacks or women first.
Until liberals stand up and denounce stoking prejudices for political gain, the quiet liberals will remain just as culpable. Decent human beings stand up against all bigotry. American liberals have shown a willingness to tolerate libelous accusations of bigotry for partisan advantage.
At the risk of further fanning the flames, no potential accusation is too absurd to be ignored.
Boehner warned Obama not to take unilateral action, that it would destroy his presidency.
“When you play with matches, you run the risk of burning yourself. He is going to burn himself if he keeps going down this path.”
There it is America. Boehner has warned that Obama is going to get burned
Between Chris Matthews and the rest of MSNBC, Nancy Cordes and her ilk at CBS News, and the Republican-despising New York Times, more ridiculous accusations have been made against conservative Republicans.
If Democrats determined to win back the Senate at all costs in 2016 have learned nothing, then the party of Robert Byrd will declare Boehner to be an Obama-burning Kleagle.Click here for reuse options!
