Liberalism is no longer a closet philosophy for politicians

The Democratic debate was scary because it was so blatantly Liberal and devisive

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Oct. 15, 2015 – When Barack Obama responded to Joe the Plumber on a rope-line several years ago, the liberal face of American politics came out of the closet. And once out, it has been a full-fledged left-wing assault ever since.

The Democratic debate on Tuesday night was a full-frontal demonstration that politicians no longer need to sequester their intentions behind double-talk and spin. If you are a socialist, go ahead and flat out admit it. It just doesn’t matter any more.

Maybe that’s a good thing so long as American voters recognize it for what it is. The problem is that Santa Claus is now a year-round job and the North Pole has moved to Washington, where all the elves can pass legislation that better suits their own needs.

Appearing on Fox’s “Hannity” on Wednesday, Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke, a Democrat by the way, unabashedly said the debate was nothing more than “whoring for votes.” Clarke called it “plantation politics in its finest hour, the continued enslavement of black people emotionally by the Democrat Party.”

Politicians on both sides of the aisle have always been guilty of participating in the “world’s oldest profession,” but the difference today is that now they do it out in the open.

The “tax the rich” mantra is worn out and tired. Is there a single high-level person in the administration or who has been, or is, a Washington insider or a member of Congress, who does not fit the current definition of “rich”? Why then would they sound off to tax themselves IF they did not have their own individual methods and benefits for circumventing their own proposals?

What is truly tragic is that the very people most affected by this not-so-secret jargon are the ones who continue to vote in favor of it.

As Clarke put it, “Poverty is now generational, it’s a lifestyle. The unemployment is obscene. They have to send their kids to failing public schools, drug and alcohol addiction, neighborhoods that are crumbling, all under Democrat control. They need to get off their knees and stop this stuff, and take a real message to the American people, and especially the black community that what they have done, they deserve an apology for from the Democrat Party.”

All in the name of “helping the American people,” which translates to “get me more votes so I can stay in power.”

President Obama has long been an advocate of better education, especially in low-income communities. What adults who have never been in the classroom fail to understand, because they have never been in the classroom, is that in many cases the opportunities are indeed available, but the kids themselves have little or no interest because in their world they cannot see beyond lunch.

Teachers spend more time baby-sitting than teaching in many cases, and thanks to political correctness discipline is either out of the question or labeled as “racism.” For the most part, law enforcement officials face the same scrutiny as teachers while the liberal media perpetuates the debate. Controversy, after all, means ratings and ratings mean $$$.

Clarke continued, “It has been an economic and social disaster under this liberal ideology for black people over the last 50 years, and it started with the destruction of the family unit, the most basic unit of society. It has been a nightmare.”

When the wall came down in Berlin in 1989, many Eastern Bloc citizens were unable to cope with their newfound freedom. They had been wards of their governments for so long that they simply could not adjust to their new society.

In a sense, though slavery was supposedly abandoned in this country during the Civil War, “slavery” still exists, repackaged by Washington for contemporary consumption.

Today Washington, rather than the plantation owner, has become “Massa” for many low-income citizens, regardless of whether they are black, white or Hispanic.

The system is broken and needs to be fixed, but not by those who seek to improve their own status by staring into a camera and unapologetically claiming they are “for helping the American people” when nothing could be further from the truth.

Only time will tell if there are real solutions. One thing is certain, however; the answers do not lie in more incentive-killing freebies from Uncle Sam or by penalizing those who actually did avail themselves of the myriad of opportunities this country offers.
