Kerry’s foot in mouth disease may be more dangerous than ebola

John Kerry displays his first diplomatic passport

CHARLOTTE, NC, August 4, 2014 – If a story in the French weekly publication Le Canard Enchaine is true, then Secretary of State John Kerry has put his foot in his mouth again.

According to Le Canard, Kerry insulted Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to several foreign ministers last week during the cease-fire negotiations between Israel and Gaza.

The paper reported that Kerry stated that Netanyahu is “a stubborn head” who “refuses to understand anything.” It should be noted that Le Canard is a satirical publication so consider the source. That said, Kerry is a living caricature of a secretary of state. And just because he stays busy does not make him competent.

This from a man who works for a president who cannot wait for congress to get out of town so that he can make freelance political decisions because congress disagrees with him.

Such comments come from a less than credible “diplomat” talking about a foreign leader who has lived his entire life surrounded by countries trying to wipe his nation off the map. A United States go-between who, as he never fails to remind us, had military experience in Vietnam. John Kerry believes he is an expert on the Middle East because he browsed through the Koran and has had lunch in Syria and dinner in Egypt.

One thing that is definitely true about being a secretary of state in the Obama administration is that they log in tons of miles hop-scotching around the globe. The president’s chief foreign negotiators are so well-traveled that it’s wonder they ever know what country they are in at any given moment. One has to wonder how they keep from being in a perpetual state of jet-lag.

Perhaps jet-leg is major contributor to America’s foreign policy woes. After all our leaders are so bewildered with time changes that they have no idea what they are saying or to whom they are saying it.

The fact is that American foreign policy is so muddled at this point that even the Middle East is confused. Is the United States supporting Israel or isn’t it? Who knows. We certainly cannot tell by any comments from Obama and/or Kerry. Nor can we figure it out by their actions.

As Pamela Geller of Atlas Shrugs puts it, “This is not just about Israel. It’s about every nation pondering what it means to be a US ally.”

Barack Obama held his annual Eid al-Fitr dinner at the White House recently. Eid al-Fitr is the feast of breaking the fast following Ramadan.

In his comments at dinner, Obama spoke of the many contributions Muslim Americans have made to our country. It is not the first time the president has made such claims.

The question is, “What contributions?” More to the point, what contributions has Islam made to the entire world, except for perfecting the suicide vest? The answer is very little.

Yet, Secretary of State Kerry says Bibi Netanyahu does not “understand anything” because he’s “a stubborn head.”

Perhaps Mr. Kerry has overdosed on hummus while he thinks he has been negotiating about Hamas.

Whatever the truth may be, criticism certainly should not be coming from an administration that has multiple scandals entwined around disastrous policies both foreign and domestic. Most of those problems are self-created and, therefore, the result of “stubborn headedness” due to a refusal to “understand.”

While Obama rails against congress for leaving Washington for its annual five week vacation as he prepares for another of his lengthy elaborate family outings, former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton truly does understand the situation abroad.

Bolton has made dire predictions regarding Obama’s failed, or more likely neglected, policies. While the media focuses upon the upcoming mid-term elections and the myriad of daily eruptions throughout the Middle East combined with a multitude of scandals, Bolton has greater fears that extend after November.

“I’m very worried that the Obama administration is still obsessed with the idea of a deal with Iran on the nuclear weapons program,” said Bolton. “They’ve already made huge concessions. I’m very much afraid more are coming and I’m very worried that at the end of November they’re gonna announce a deal as a great success, but it will not be a success for the United States.”

In other words, Obama already knows what he plans to do regarding Iran. The only reason we have not done anything yet is because the elections are looming, and Obama knows precisely how unpopular such a decision would be
As Bolton puts it, “In this whole region, the single biggest threat to the United States is Iran’s nuclear program.”

Still, John Kerry has the nerve to call Benjamin Netanyahu “a stubborn head” while the Israelis dodge missiles from Hamas and Kerry, himself, continues to figure out where he is and with whom he is talking.
