NEW YORK, May 26, 2015 — For the billionth time, a liberal reporter was caught acting like a liberal reporter. The facts did not support the liberal viewpoint, so in came the editing machine. Faster than Hillary Clinton deleting emails, Katie Couric selectively edited out key footage from her interview with supporters of gun rights.
With the pompous arrogance of Dan Rather and Mary Mapes and the clueless incompetence of Jayson Blair, Katie Couric allowed her ideological bigotry to devour her last shred of professionalism. In most industries, being caught committing fraud would be grounds for termination.
In the liberal media industry, Couric’s utter disregard for unbiased truth could land her a seven-figure MSNBC job.
At this point a quiz question deserves consideration. Which bathroom should Katie Couric use at her place of employment, the men’s, women’s or transgendered bathroom? The correct answer is none of the above. She should not be employed to begin with.
From Facebook to Jon Stewart, liberal manipulation of data has long had conservatives seething. While denying that the problem was institutional, at least Mark Zuckerberg admitted that liberal bias exists at his company.
Renowned media critic Bernard Goldberg has long insisted that the problem is one of an echo chamber and groupthink, not deliberate malfeasance. Goldberg is brilliant, but his reasonable explanation may be far too charitable.
It is one thing for media liberals to push their issues. Liberals obsess over transgendered bathrooms and climate change, while most of Normal America finds those topics utterly boring. It is far worse for conservative viewpoints to be deliberately distorted to advance the liberal agenda.
For this reason, Couric is only one small symptom in a much larger disease. The American liberal media has allowed bias to devour the truth. For many media liberals, an utter lack of self-awareness comes from living in toxic rarified air. To paraphrase “South Park,” media liberals are blind and choking from the thickness of the smug.
It is long past time for liberals to confront the darkest aspect of their own ideology. If liberalism truly worked, liberals would not need to lie or use force to enact liberal policies.
The gun issue is one of many examples where the liberal media is on the far left and Normal America is on the right side of the center. Despite decades of anti-gun propaganda, Americans cling to their guns. They do so because the Second Amendment to the Constitution is far more sacred than Katie Couric’s anti-gun opinion.
Like many liberals, Katie Couric suffers from anti-gun hostility and a modern millennial approach to solving problems. She is offended by gun owners, so the rest of us should provide her a bubble-wrapped Oberlin College safe space.
Normal America does not react with such visceral emotion. Normal America looks at data and analyzes empirical evidence. Normal America sees that gun-free zones are high crime war zones while pro-gun areas are panaceas of peace and calm.
Rather than accept this, Couric did what so many media liberals do. She tried to alter the empirical evidence. Like Dan Rather, Mary Mapes and the “fake but accurate” memos of 2004, Couric was willing to sacrifice her integrity rather than admit bias.
Couric did not make an honest mistake. She deliberately lied to America because she is a liberal ideological zealot fueled by her obsessive self-righteousness. Deliberately editing videos in the manner she did is nothing short of corruption.
Her level of dishonesty makes her qualified to be Hillary Clinton’s vice presidential nominee. She can show Clinton how to selectively edit videos. Clinton in turn can then teach Couric how to destroy the videos so neither of them gets caught.Click here for reuse options!
