CPAC Update: Former Ambasssador John Bolton addresses conservatives

WASHINGTON, March 6, 2014 –  A leading foreign policy expert, Former Ambassador John Bolton addressed CPAC saying that “The biggest threat to our national security is Barack Obama.The Democrat Party no longer has a national security plan…ignoring threats to our national security is the Obama Doctrine.”

He reviewed the various threats around our globe, including nuclear proliferation in Iran and North Korea. “We’re not going to get peace through weakness,” he said, in regards to the Russia situation. He encouraged the audience to remember the conservative policies and victories of Ronald Reagan.

The Honorable John Bolton was a U.S. Permanent Representative to the United Nations. He was appointed on August 1, 2005 and served until his resignation in December 2006. Prior to his appointment, Bolton served as Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security from May 2001 to May 2005. Bolton has spent many years of his career in public service. Previous positions he has held include assistant secretary for International Organization Affairs at the Department of State from 1989-1993 and assistant attorney general at the Department of Justice from 1985-1989. Bolton is the author of Surrender Is Not an Option: Defending America at the U.N. & Abroad, (Simon and Shuster, November 2007) and How Barack Obama is Endangering our National Sovereignty (Encounter Books, April 2010). He currently serves as a foreign policy senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, is a contributor to FOX News Channel, and his op-ed articles are regularly featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and The Washington Times.
