.WASHINGTON: The minions of the mainstream fake-news media, especially the Washington Post, are pounding their fists in frustration as the killing power of Hurricane Flo diminished in strength from a category 4 (130 to 156 mile-per-hour winds) to a less apocalyptic category 1 (74 to 95 mile-per-hour winds).
A death wish for red states
You see, they hoped – and that’s the only accurate way to describe it – the storm would remain a monster of biblical proportions, killing and maiming hundreds if not thousands of Americans. They needed plenty of floating dead bodies to prove, as the Post asserted, that “when it comes to extreme weather, Mr. Trump is complicit.”
And how does Trump summon the furies?
“He [Trump] plays down human’s role in increasing the risks, and he continues to dismantle efforts to address those risks… But there is no reasonable doubt that humans are priming the Earth’s systems to produce disasters.”
Climate change superheroes?
Have you noticed that members of the media and the more hysterical adherents of the environmental movement actually believe the mythos of the DC Comics universe? They think mere mortals are capable of attaining superhuman powers to bend physical reality in the service of good or evil.
They further believe legislation by unelected UN climate bureaucrats can propel them, Superman-like, into earth orbit, allowing them to circle the planet so swiftly it can turn back the clock… to a time when hurricanes were harmless and fun.
They see President Trump as, well, Lex Luthor, who once said:
“When faced with a myth we can’t win. So, the mythic must be exposed for what it is. So we can believe in ourselves. Because it’s only what’s in us…the drive to be mythic… that matters.”
A calming storm
Getting back to reality and Hurricane Florence. The media was pushing the category 4 storm as the icing on the Trump-derangement cake. They would have loved nothing more than to see many Trump-voting, red-state Carolinians – North and South – suffer and die. Those who stood against the cultural and political headwinds of inevitability and courageously denied the presidency to a true villain… Hillary Clinton.
But nature isn’t nearly as predictable as next holiday’s superhero, box-office blockbuster release, or whining climate changers in the age of Trump. And so, the warm waters that fueled Hurricane Florence’s fury cooled, calming the storm.
Regardless, Hurricane Flo will surely drop tons of rain, which will lead to flooding. For those wishing to blame Trump for the storm, it won’t be nearly as devastating a natural disaster as once thought.
So, why isn’t the media crediting Trump for raising his presidential staff, like Moses, and uttering incantations to calm the winds?
They would just credit former President Obama for Florence’s taming, the same way they credit the failed Chicago community organizer for the healthy Trump economy.
Thanks to the likes of the Washington Post, it’s becoming a DC Comics world in Trump-deranged D.C.
