WASHINGTON, February 15, 2017 – The well organized and funded liberal anarchist machine has been fooled and they do not even realize it yet. While they were fighting President Trump’s temporary immigration ban Executive Order (EO) covering Iraq, Syria, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia, and Yemen, they completely missed his real dagger. On January 25, he issued the Sanctuary City “Enhancing Public Safety in the Interior of the United States” EO.
Whether the head fake on the mainstream media was strategic or simply accidental, President Trump has reclaimed America’s borders and the nation’s security while liberals and Capitol Hill democrats focused on photo ops and speeches at airports.
Safety and security was a major plank in presidential candidate’s stump speeches, and his Sanctuary City order zeroes in on that concern. Now he has issued a presidential order that threatens the termination of federal funds to those cities and its officials that harbor illegal immigrants and has placed a special emphasis on the dangerous criminal element in those communities.
For Americans who wake up every morning in the 400 plus sanctuary cities that dot the landscape of the nation, a travel ban is a momentary news item, while their safety and security is never-ending. The sanctuary city cartel by definition is an open and defiant resistance movement of public officials who ignore federal law. Basically, they have decided to completely ignore federal law. There is no difference between these law breakers and those southern public officials who failed implement fair voting, housing, employment and education federal statues of the late 1950s and 1960s.
The selective enforcement of federal law governing illegal immigrants and the real and present danger the hundreds of thousands of crimes they commit should be morally repellant to residents of those sanctuary cities. The number of horrific crimes committed by the criminal element of illegal immigrants is staggering.
There are approximately 2.1 million legal or illegal immigrants with criminal convictions living free or behind bars in the U.S., according to ICE’s Secure Communities office. Fox News reported that Each year “700,000 are released from jail, prison, or probation. ICE estimates that there are more than 1.2 million criminal aliens at large in the U.S.”
It gets worse.
A Government Accountability Office report titled, “Criminal Alien Statistics,” found there were 55,000 illegal immigrants in federal prison and 296,000 in state and local lockups in 2011.
Other report findings include:
The number of criminal aliens in U.S. federal prisons in 2010 was estimated to be 55,000, a 7% increase since 2005. (The general U.S. federal prison population rose 14% over the same time.)
The total number of criminal aliens estimated to be in state and local prisons in 2009 was 296,000.
Between 2005 and 2009, the total annual cost of housing this population at all levels was between $1.5 and $1.6 billion.
The average criminal alien has been arrested seven times. Approximately 50% have been arrested for a drug-related offense, 65% for an immigration-related offense, 35% for assault, 19% for weapons violations and 8% for homicide.
Mexico is the country of origin for 68% of criminal aliens. Columbia and the Dominican Republic are the next most likely countries of origin, representing 5% each of the alien incarcerated population.
States with more than 10,000 criminal alien incarcerations are California, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Illinois and New York. 74% of total incarcerations took place in California, Arizona and Texas.
The numbers of violent attacks on American citizens are more than alarming statistics. They represent real people and for Americans that send their children to school, shop at stores, attend a public event or simply take a walk in a park, waiting for something to be done is over.
Examine the impact of criminal immigrant activity and then wonder if you should be tolerating ICE’s release in 2014 onto U.S. streets 30,558 criminal illegal immigrants with a combined 79,059 criminal convictions including 86 homicides, 186 kidnappings, and thousands of sexual assaults, domestic violence assaults and DUIs, by the Obama administration.
Fortunately, there is a new sheriff in town and he is unwilling to witness, tolerate or permit the undefinable actions of an Obama administration that was permissive of sanctuary cities and their protection of criminal illegal immigrants.
The president’s EO on Sanctuary Cities Trump’s Sanctuary Cities Section 9(a) of the Order threatens to withhold unspecified federal funding to jurisdictions that “willfully refuse to comply with 8 U.S.C. 1373. In addition, the EO states, “Subsection 1373(a) provides that “a local government entity or official may not prohibit, or in any way restrict, any government entity or official from sending to, or receiving from, [federal immigration officials] information regarding the citizenship or immigration status . . . of any individual.”
In other words, while the immigration ban is being fought in the courts and in the mainstream media press, the true weapon to insure the safety and security of the nation’s borders will be filtering through the Department of Homeland Security enforcement apparatus.
Enforcement of the president’s directive will:
(a) Ensure the faithful execution of the immigration laws of the United States, including the INA, against all removable aliens, consistent with Article II, Section 3 of the United States Constitution and section 3331 of title 5, United States Code;
(b) Make use of all available systems and resources to ensure the efficient and faithful execution of the immigration laws of the United States;
(c) Ensure that jurisdictions that fail to comply with applicable Federal law do not receive Federal funds, except as mandated by law;
(d) Ensure that aliens ordered removed from the United States are promptly removed; and
(e) Support victims, and the families of victims, of crimes committed by removable aliens.
Unlike the Obama administration which appeared to either willfully ignore sanctuary cities and their specific intent to violate federal law or worked to actively support these law-breaking public officials, President Trump will not. His administration will not allow local communities and their leaders to supplant federal law with local community liberal policies that protect criminal illegal immigrants at the expense of American citizens.
Finally, a president who has the political will to safeguard America’s families and their communities and streets has arrived.
