MILLINOCKET, Maine, July 20, 2014 — In light of recent news events, one might believe that the gates of Hell have opened: a passenger plane shot down over eastern Ukraine, extreme Islam controlling parts of Syria and Iraq and Israel launches a ground invasion into Gaza.
On the Yamal Peninsula in Siberia, a giant and some have said bottomless hole (it isn’t) has opened in the earth. Interestingly, the Yamal Peninsula is locally referred to as “the end of the earth.”
The hole is 260 feet wide and appears to have been cut or drilled through from the inside. Recent photos show a frozen lake at an unspecified depth in the hole.
Judging from the pictures, it does appear to have been an exit event instead of an impact from above. The permafrost appears to have melted and re-frozen quickly, forming a funnel shaped opening at the mouth of the hole. The soil around it looks to have been ejected outward.
Scientists are converging on the site to see what they can make of the phenomenon. Of course, social media was abuzz with the story and the cause has been attributed to global warming, UFOs, or gas explosions.
Late night talk shows that focus on the weird and the paranormal have been hinting, even predicting that hellish things are in the works. They suggest that the end times are upon us and the demons of the underworld will be released to cause havoc in the earth. The gates of Hell being opened are a common theme in their programs.
It looks like one of the gates of Hell may have already opened in Siberia.
