CHARLOTTE, NC, November 6, 2014 – As Republicans were opening a new window of opportunity on Tuesday night, it was curtains for Team Obama. Despite that, the president apparently did not recognize the drapes of wrath of the American people.
That sets the stage for two years of high drama where the cast of characters will play out their roles in ways that determine whether the scenario of the past six years continues to be an American tragedy.
In Shakespearean terms Tuesday’s election results for Republicans were As You Like It with the promise of All’s Well That Ends Well. For Barack Obama, on the other hand, it was Much Ado About Nothing.
Many of us remember Obama’s Greek columns during the 2008 presidential campaign. Though most people did not realize it then, the setting has become the perfect symbol for one of Barack Obama’s most identifiable tragic flaws; hubris.
Unchecked pride and self-confidence without credentials is a dangerous combination. So much so that even in the aftermath of Obama’s resounding defeat this week, which reflects his policies, the president is still unable to accept responsibility for the outcome.
Charles Hurt of Breibart News warns that, “America now enters the two most dangerous years of her existence — or certainly the most dangerous since the Great Depression and possibly going all the way back to the Civil War.”
We are now entering the final act of the great Obama cliff-hanger. Charles Hurt recognizes the threat of the president’s vindictiveness.
“Disowned by Democrats and made to feel irrelevant in this election, President Obama’s unjustified ego is deeply wounded. He is frustrated and feels caged, cornered. This is when people like him are most dangerous,” writes Hurt.
That leads Obama to his next course of action which, as we have so glaringly learned over the past half dozen years, is to take the easy way out.
Hurt continues, “President Obama is not a listener. He is not a negotiator. He is not a learner. He will just take what he wants. It is easier that way.”
Running the country for this president isn’t as much fun a playing golf and attending adoring fund raisers. Where Bill Clinton reveled in the challenges of the office, Barack Obama always takes the course of least resistance, especially if there is political gain, first for him and second for his party.
Deeply wounded and backed into a corner, desperation will now dictate the Obama agenda. Make no mistake, it will be filled with vengeance for any and all who dares to question him or his motives.
In the end, there is now nothing for Obama to lose. However, the danger lies in the fact that neither is there is anything for him to gain.
Time and again the president has shown his disdain for the constitution when it doesn’t jibe with his ideology.
Says Hurt, “He flaunts his disregard for the constitutional process, dismisses laws he doesn’t like and rewrites others. He mocks the powers of Congress.”
The metamorphosis of government can be an agonizingly slow process. Republicans first rid the country of Nancy Pelosi’s house leadership. Now the people have stripped Obama of his senate puppet Harry Reid who stopped all things distasteful to Mr. Obama’s discerning political palate.
That leaves Obama all alone on the American political stage where he must now deliver his soliloquies to deaf ears and empty seats.
The king still wears the crown, however. Until the final curtain falls upon the Obama drama, the president will follow his script to the letter, leaving everyone else to improvise to counter his attack.
As the twists and turns unfold in the final scenes of this horror show, we must all remember that a sequel looms on the horizon if King Barack is followed by Queen Hillary.
The time has come to close this production forever.
