CHARLOTTE, N.C., November 12, 2015 — Drip. The world got a wake-up call on 9/11/2001. The furor lasted for a while, and then it rolled over and went back to sleep. Drip.
Since then we have seen the rise of Boko Haram, ISIS, video beheadings and other assorted barbaric crimes against humanity. Yet we continue to pretend such events are far, far away with no immediate impact on our lives. Drip.
President Obama has buried his head in the sand, refusing to acknowledge the threats laid out before us. He is keenly aware of them, but chooses to ignore them, claiming that Islamic extremism is an aberration of a great religion. Drip. Drip.
The metamorphosis goes on. The transition is slow. Perhaps that is why it is so impercetible.
On election day this year, Americans went to the polls to vote throughout the country. One election in Hamtramck, Michigan was particularly significant, though it went largely unnoticed in the media. Drip.
In Hamtramck, a Muslim majority was elected to the city council. We have been told time and again to beware of what happens when Islam takes control in any area, yet we fail to heed the warnings. We are oblivious because we are either politically correct or ignorant of what is happening or just don’t care. Drip. Drip. Drip.
Within moments of winning the election, Pamela Geller of Atlas Shrugs and Breitbart News points out, Muslim council members took to their cell phones to announce “Today we show the Polish and everybody else…”
Hamtramck has a large Polish community, but it is quickly declining. Like many places where there has been significant Islamic integration, Muslim growth increases and other cultures fade.
Geller cites Will Jones, a local reporter, as being exuberant about the outcome because it had “dramatically changed the face and culture of the community.” The Hamtramck City Council is going to reflect that diversity,” he said. Typically blatant ignorance by a liberal reporter. Drip.
“Diversity” by the way is defined as being “a point of difference.” Jones got that right. Everything in Hamtramck will be different now.
It is likely just a matter of time before Sharia or Sharia-like law enforcement comes to the Michigan community. When Islam gains control, everything else becomes secondary to Muslim thinking.
Not surprisingly, former councilmember, Cathie Lisinki-Gordon, was stunned by the Muslim reaction. “I’m shocked,” she said in astonishment. “I’m a very good friend of (Ibrahim Algahim). I cannot believe that he would ever profile any select group. Especially when his community has felt ostracized and profiled for many years.”
And that’s the way it always happens. Shock. Surprise. Amazement. Bewilderment. Confusion. Drip. Drip.
Lisinki-Gordon made her first wrong assumption in referring to her former Muslim associate “friend.” “Acquaintance” yes. “Friend” never. It’s rather like calling Dr. Jekyll a “friend” when you are unknowingly dealing with Mr. Hyde.
As Geller correctly explains, “Cathie Lisinski-Gordon is a perfect metaphor for the West and its approach to the Islamization of the West. Algahim’s community ‘felt ostracized and profiled for many years’? How? Here again we see the victim club at work, pounding on the psyche of the host nation. But once Muslims are in power, Islamic supremacism rules.”
Drip. Drip. Drip. Go back to sleep. Obama assures us that everything is okay.
Oh sure, it is all just Islamophobia. Citizens are simply hate filled anti-Muslms. Keep believing that when Sharia law comes to your state or town. As Geller half-jokingly wrote, “Perhaps their first order of businees will be (to) rename the town Hamtramckistan.”
Yes, the new council members have promised cooperation and unity. That is known as taqqiya. It’s a routine Muslim concept we call “lying.”
As Geller points out, “Nowhere in any majority-Muslim country today do non-Muslims enjoy full equality of rights with Muslims. Everyone assumes that the Muslims in the U.S. are different and don’t believe in the Islamic laws that lead to that discrimination, but there is no basis for that assumption: there is no American form of Islam that is different from the form that prevails in the rest of the world.”
In other words, just saying everything will be all right and we need to be more diverse will not make it so. The West continues to sleep through the transition while the Muslim world rolls merrily along as though they are shifting from one season to the next. As though summer becomes fall and then glides into winter because that’s the natural order of things.
Then suddenly, one day we roll over to discover that while we were asleep the world changed, and we are surprised because we didn’t even know it was happening.
