Pat Buchanan won New Hampshire. Every four years the libertarians insist they will expand their presence, and every four years they get their 10-15% of the GOP vote. There is a far larger plurality of Republicans who will never vote for a non-interventionist foreign policy. The Neocons were disparaged in recent years but are now coming back with a vengeance based on global events. Paul is far more polished than his father Ron Paul, but it will not matter. Libertarians die in South Carolina, and Rand Paul will as well. His father refused to drop out of the race and never even endorsed Romney in 2012. To be fair, Rand Paul did endorse Romney. Nevertheless, Paul has shown no evidence of expanding beyond his niche. His biggest weakness is his supporters, many of whom act in such an uncouth manner that they give the entire movement a bad name.
