WASHINGTON. Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia report, which exonerated President Trump of the charges that he is a double agent in the employ of Russia’s Vladimir Putin and then attempted to obstruct the Justice Department’s investigation thereof, did hand down one last indictment.
Unsealed, it reads,
“Media shmucks are lying sacks of goo.”
Tears of a clown
Actually, the above was implied if not actually put down on paper. The clownish mainstream media has egg on its face. They trumpeted one “bombshell” Russia collusion revelation after another for two years. Many of these exposés were derived from self-serving leaks provided by congressional Democrats and their minions in the FBI. But these sources knew they were telling a friendly media what they wanted to hear.
Consider the unnamed source
And so, the nattering nabobs of negativism produced thousands of uncritical news reports promoting abject lies as the truth. You would think these media scribblers and talking heads would be glowing red with anger at having been so cynically used by the sources they trusted.
But it’s hard for the press to let go of a narrative they so desperately want to be true.
Denial is not a river in Egypt
ABC’s Rick Klein is one such media ass hat.
“Trump is wrong to claim that Mueller’s report was a ‘complete and total exoneration.’ The report has not yet been made public, and Attorney General William Barr quotes Mueller as stating it ‘does not conclude that the President committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him.’”
Crushed by the wheels of justice
It’s clear Klein and a majority of the media are unfamiliar with a fundamental tenet of American jurisprudence.
The state’s burden is not to prove the innocence of Americans accused of a crime. Innocence is the presumption in our free society. Rather, the state’s burden is to prove that a crime has been committed “beyond a reasonable doubt.”
Mueller and his team failed to make that case despite having formidable resources at their command.
As Attorney General William Barr stated in his summary to Congress, Mueller employed the services of…
“… 19 attorneys… approximately 40 FBI agents, intelligence analysts, forensic accountants, and other professional staff… issued more than 2,800 subpoenas, executed nearly 500 search warrants, obtained more than 230 orders for communication records, issued almost 50 orders authorizing use of pen registers [phone taps], made 13 requests to foreign governments for evidence and interviewed approximately 500 witnesses.”
After all that, evidence for Russia collusion and obstruction of justice came up goose eggs.
You see, justice is not a preordained outcome. It’s a process governed by rules. What annoys the media is that they were denied a political show trial, with Trump in chains before them. Like the trials practiced in the country where democratic socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders took his blushing bride for their honeymoon.
The Soviet Union.
How many divisions has the media?
“Everyone imposes his own system as far as his army can reach,” said Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin. Despite their relentless disinformation campaigns, the angry Stalinists of the mainstream media have discovered, much to their dismay, they haven’t got much of an army.
Certainly not one big enough to defeat President Trump and his steadfast MAGA militia of “deplorables.”
