CHARLOTTE, N.C. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said it loudest. But with regard to the Democrat dead-enders’ shameful smear campaign against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, former U.S. Secretary of Education, Bill Bennett, may have said it best.
“Whatever disingenuous remarks the Democrats may make about victims’ rights, or however many traditional catchphrases they employ to rally their base, those words are just window dressing.”
If anyone watching the train wreck Kavanaugh hearings last week didn’t gag at the holier-than-though pontifications of the Senate Democrats on the Judiciary Committee, they cannot be serious about the confirmation process and future of our country.
The Democrat dead-enders’ lust for power is now obvious
Members of Congress love to hear themselves talk. Always have. Always will. But the sham phoniness of the Democrats’ actions and words speak volumes about the state of the union and those who have been elected to speak for its people. Make no mistake: The Democrat dead-enders’ unprecedented smear campaign against Brett Kavanaugh is being waged solely for the purpose of regaining the power to which they feel they are entitled.
Forget about Republicans or Democrats. Ignore Conservatives vs Liberals. Throw out any common decency for two people caught up in a whirlpool of controversy under the guise of “doing what is best for women’s rights.” The Democrat dead-enders’ credo is this: No one but a left-wing Democrat is worthy of holding elective power in America. Period. The rest of us can take a hike.
Make no mistake, the dead-enders’ destruction of Brett Kavanaugh is meant as a lesson for us all. This is what will happen to us, our spouses, and even our small children if we dare to differ with these thugs in any way.
Lindsey Graham said precisely what everyone knows, especially the self-focused hypocrisy of Senate Democrats who have the cowardice to hide behind American values and rights in the name of power and control. The opposition promptly chastised the angry, red-faced Graham for speaking out. Too bad. The dead-enders’ vileness broke broken the Senatorial camel’s back. Shouted Lindsey Graham,
“My problem is with the people who did this to him (Kavanaugh), not how he responded. I’ve known him for 20 years. We’ll get to the bottom of how he was treated, and why.”
Damned if you do and damned if you don’t if you’re a Republican
Is Graham the only senator who can see through the scrim of duplicitous insincerity designed to mask the Democrat dead-enders’ true intentions? Or is he simply the only person in Congress fearless enough to speak out?
The dead-enders criticized him for speaking out. But he made the right decision. In a no-win situation like this one, you might as well use the method that gets the most attention. Bravo, Mr. Graham. All right-thinking Americans applaud you.
RINOs on parade
Elsewhere in the Senate, let’s face it. The sanctimonious charlatans on the other side of the aisle neatly snookered Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ). And by extension, pressured the other Republicans Senators who caved to relentless last-minute pressure applied relentlessly by their opposition colleagues. These GOP RINOs joined in the Democrat dead-enders’ call for a brand new FBI investigation of new allegations against Judge Kavanaugh. These thoroughly base left-wing operatives will demand anything to delay or him rather than putting this Supreme Court nomination to a vote.
This ploy is so obvious it reeks of the lowest form of political behavior in American history. What’s next?
Ignoring top Democrat sinners
Democrats already have more than their share of skeletons in their collective closets; Bill Clinton, Ted Kennedy, Gary Hart and on and on. Where was the outcry of disgust against women’s rights when Clinton was accused of rape? What does Mary Jo Kopechne’s family think about Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) and her complicit compadres’ hollow excuses for compassion?
What’s the fight to approve Judge Kavanaugh really about
First and foremost, this fight is not about sexual assault, rape or any other 11th hour issue that can be dreamed up by opponents. Purely and simply it is about delay, control and power. Adding extra time to the process, regardless of whether new information is revealed, only allows the Democrat dead-enders’ strategists to plan their next set of tactics to derail Kavanaugh’s nomination.
As Bill Bennett correctly opined,
“If not for a leak that was likely from the Democratic side, Ford’s anonymity, which she deeply wanted, could have been preserved. But this wouldn’t have served the Democrats’ seeming strategy of delay or their apparent hope for an emotion-packed display.”
Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich responded to the situation as well.
“If no Democrat has the courage to vote for decency, honesty and a sense of fairness, then we are truly in deep trouble as a country. The focus for the next few days ought to be on the Democrats.”
Only two people, possibly three, actually know what took place at a small, alleged high school gathering in Maryland, 36 long years ago. Both are credible. And Christine Blasey Ford has been traumatized by and event that happened to her. Ford claims she is 100% certain the perpetrator was Brett Kavanaugh. Yet everything about this situation is vague. And none of the witnesses cited by Ford in her allegation have backed up her story.
Truthfully, however, the sexual charges here are not the issue. They certainly could have been had they been revealed in a more timely fashion. But the inappropriate last minute details disqualify that argument.
The despicable Senator from California
Senator Dianne Feinstein had another little trick up her sleeve, however. Or, if it wasn’t her idea, then Ford’s request for anonymity gave the California senator an easy out. By supposedly saying she would not reveal the story, Feinstein’s “people” could leak the details in the waning minutes before the vote, thus allowing the senator to merely say, “I was just honoring Christine Ford’s wishes.” Yeah, right.
Precisely how many of these “noble” congressional leaders could stand the level of scrutiny that has been thrown at Brett Kavanaugh? How many of them would scream “foul” or “bloody murder” if their distant past lives were put to the tests that Kavanaugh has undergone? And, more to the point, how many would pass those tests?
Advise and Consent in the U.S. Senate is utterly in ruins
The current Senate confirmation process for appointing judges to the Supreme Court has been completely debased. The current stunts and fake drama we’re witnessing is, purely and simply, a 21st century witch hunt meant to derail the current nomination by any means. This charade makes 17th century Salem, Massachusetts pale by comparison.
Something may very well have happened more than three decades ago. This, however, this was not the time to bring it up. That time was this past summer, when the Judiciary Committee was taking testimony and considering Judge Kavanaugh’s nomination. But that was not in the Democrat dead-enders’ secret playbook. What happened instead was a complete loss of human dignity by both parties involved in the current charade.
Whether Kavanaugh wins or loses, one can only hope that those who began this smear, slander and destroy campaign and jeopardized the judicial processes laid out by our Founding Fathers will ultimately pay a heavy price for their destructive, partisan game.
