WASHINGTON: No sooner did Brett Kavanaugh become the 114th justice to serve on the US Supreme Court, taking his oath to defend the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic, than the kookiest of America’s domestic enemies, Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Crazy Pelosi, pledged to continue fanning the flames of liberal hysteria in the vain hope Kavanaugh will be impeached.
Having lost control of Congress, the White House, and now the highest court in the land, the left is betting everything on the upcoming midterm elections. The media tells us a blue wave is in the offing. But the same fake-news minions told us “corrupt” Hillary Clinton was the shoe-in favorite to be the nation’s 45th president.
Their polls are hardly reliable.
There is little doubt Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee screwed up the Kavanaugh hearings mightily. They allowed unhinged Professor Christine Blasey Ford to make the baseless charge that Kavanaugh attempted to rape her 30 plus years ago.
They did so without subjecting her to vigorous cross-examination.
Worse still, these fools never bothered to subpoena and have testify the five people Ford claimed witnessed or knew of her supposed attack. All denied Ford’s claim in sworn depositions submitted to the committee.
These tangential Republicans refused to heap richly-deserved humiliation on Ford and her Democratic Party champions. And sensing Republican weakness, Democrats and their radical constituencies went into overdrive.
The hysterical left overplays its hand
Two female activists cornered Arizona Sen. Jeff Flake in a Capitol Hill elevator, with one screaming at the overly sensitive “man” until he cried. After drying his tears, Flake joined Democrats in demanding a delay to the hearings so the FBI could conduct the seventh investigation into Kavanaugh’s background.
Two days later – no surprise – the seventh Kavanaugh investigation came up as clean as the other six.
And it was during Ford’s testimony on Capitol Hill that the personal information (home addresses and telephone numbers) of Republican senators Linsey Graham, Mike Lee, and Orrin Hatch were posted to Wikipedia. A process known as doxxing.
Capitol Police later arrested Jackson A. Cosko, 27, for allegedly committing the act. Cosko was a House staffer in the employ of Democratic Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee.
Of kooks and nuts – Nancy Crazy Pelosi and Sheila Jackson Lee
Lee, you see, is Nancy Pelosi’s intellectual equal. Back in 1997, Sheila Jackson Lee asked scientists at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena, California, if cameras aboard the Mars Pathfinder rover would capture images of the US flag and footprints left by American astronauts Neil Armstrong and Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin.
It fell to a mortified JPL sap in a white coat to inform the confused Yale graduate that Apollo 11 astronauts Armstrong and Aldrin landed on the Moon and not Mars on July 20, 1969.
Saturday, Pelosi vowed to file a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request with the FBI. It’s clear the ditsy Pelosi believes there’s incriminating evidence somewhere in the seventh, final, and favorable Kavanaugh report. But, as Fox News reported:
“FBI background checks on judicial nominees have traditionally been kept confidential so that only senators, White House officials, and certain aides can view them.”
Wishing away Kavanaugh
And speaking of unhinged, the progressives at CREDO action gathered more than 125,000 signatures for their online petition demanding the impeachment of Justice Kavanaugh. It’s the same organization that failed to influence Sen. Jeff Flake with catchy bumper-sticker phrases like, “Brett lied, he’s disqualified.”
Crazy impeachment talk
Supreme Court Justice Kavanaugh and President Trump should take such impeachment mutterings with a celebratory cigar in one hand and a crystal tumbler with two fingers of single-malt scotch in the other.
By continuing to overplay their bad hand, Washington’s Democrats and their carnival sideshow constituencies are proving to be as out of touch with reality as the dippy Professor Christine Blasey Ford.
And voting Americans are starting to take notice.
Washington’s Republicans may be inarticulate cowards, but they’re certainly not Pelosi crazy. And that’s a distinct advantage for the hapless Grand Old Party as it stumbles its way toward the midterms.
