Trump’s ‘racism’ and the imaginary moral purity of Democrats
CHARLOTTE, NC. Democrats are in the third week of a tantrum over Donald Trump’s ‘racism.’ Serial headline seeker Geraldo Rivera confirmed the existence of Trump’s racism on Fox & Friends. Countless progressives have followed, making it an absolute fact, never to be questioned again.
The media, determined to keep everything to a single, ten-second soundbite, used the portion of Trump’s text that best suited their purposes. That, of course, changed the context of the message, making it “fake but accurate.” Just like the phony anti-Bush II missive that got Dan Rather fired from CBS. But who cares?
Trump’s “racist” tweet
The president’s mid-July tweet in question alluded to a group of four pro-socialist Democrat congresswomen, aka “the Squad.” But in their usual fashion, the media zeroed in on the portion of the allegedly offending tweet they claim is racist:
“Why don’t they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime-infested places from which they came.”
Only one of the four was born in another country. The other three were born Americans. But the trio of U.S. citizens hails from places that are hardly “Mayberry, USA.” The language was careful. The media was not.
The media claim the president is supposed to be above such remarks. However, he expressed a sentiment that many Americans have stated previously. And honestly. But it’s also a sentiment that is forbidden to express in today’s PC environment. Hence, all the fake gnashing of teeth over Trump’s racism.
Immigration controversies have always been an American problem.
Perceptions of Trump’s racism are part of America’s long and conflicted views on immigration. For most of our history, immigration controversies have periodically smoldered in our politics. They occasionally burst into flames.
The catalyst for the full-blown conflagration that is currently raging was 9/11. The unifying aftermath of that horrendous but memorable day in American history was the one bright spot that emerged out of this national tragedy. But that very American sense of unity was quickly lost, crushed under intentionally polarizing political debates.
If the media and Democrats wanted to be honest, they would have reproduced Trump’s entire tweet, not just the portion they claim was the gist of his message. But had they done this, the public would have to decide for itself what he meant, ignoring the analysis of media elites.
The President’s actual message
What follows is the President’s full message, which was comprised of two tweets.
“So interesting to see “Progressive” Democrat Congresswomen, who originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe, the worst, most corrupt and inept anywhere in the world (if they even have a functioning government at all), now loudly….and viciously telling the people of the United States, the greatest and most powerful Nation on earth, how our government is to be run. Why don’t they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came. Then come back and show us how….”
Are Democrats and progressives so afraid of the actual truth? Foreigners are using every means possible to get into this country. The Democrats insist on ignoring all the immigration laws we have on the books. Every other country in the world has a strict immigration policy. We do not. And that’s why we have a perpetual immigration crisis. Trump has said on numerous occasions that all he wants is for immigrants to come in legally and to live by our rules and standards. What’s so wrong about that?
Moreover, what right do citizens of other countries, many of which are in fact dysfunctional and corrupt, have to seek asylum here for a better life. Subsequently, what right to they have to try to remake America in the image and likeness of the places they fled? How much sense does that make. The very idea is absurd.
Trump’s message is Obama’s, without the polish.
Democrat and media darling Barack Obama essentially pitched the same message as Trump’s on many occasions. He talked about his willingness to listen to anyone who had better ideas about how to make the U.S. a better place. Obama may have been more diplomatic than Trump – it wouldn’t take much – but the essence of his message was the same.
So, if Donald Trump is guilty of racism, aren’t his opponents equally guilty?
Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-MN, is a Muslim from Somalia. A failing dysfunctional country that hasn’t had a viable government for many years shares few of the values we treasure in the U.S. As a member of “the Squad,” she seeks only to disrupt positive progress in our country. She seems to think the Third World has something to teach us.
So Sen. Rand Paul, R-KY, offered to buy her a plane ticket back to Somalia so she could remind herself of the living conditions in her African homeland. She apparently has yet to take him up on his offer.

Is it racist to point out in gratitude for the blessings of freedom?
Paul offered Breitbart News the following observation.
“(S)he (Omar) came here and we fed her, we clothed her, she got welfare, she got (schooling), she got healthcare, and then, lo and behold, she has the honor of actually winning a seat in Congress, and she says we’re a terrible country? I think that’s about as ungrateful as you can get.”
The general response of the Democrat-media complex: Sorry, Senator Paul, that’s not honesty. You’re a racist. Forget that Islam is not a race. Trump’s racism is yours, too.
That’s how this fake blame game spreads.
This fire will continue to burn. The question is whether or not it will have the impact the left desires. Probably not. Hopefully, because those who disagree with the absurd response to Trump’s overarching message have enough common sense to see through the hypocrisy.
The Dems are preaching to the misinformed choir. And, as is so often the case, they are jarringly out of tune with their country once again.
