WASHINGTON. People often warn us, “Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it.” And no one knows this better than Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. She finally gave her impeachment-crazed House members what they wanted. She allowed a formal “inquiry” designed to undo the results of the 2016 presidential election. Which is where Eric Ciaramella and Joe Biden come into the picture.
Who’s that spook in the darkness where Democracy dies?
The current impeachment push against President Donald Trump hinges on the veracity of accusations made by alleged but likely CIA whistleblower Eric Ciaramella. He’s a former functionary of the White House National Security Council (NSC).
Paul Sperry of Real Clear Investigations uncovered Ciaramella’s name and revealed it to the world. Until that revelation, Ciaramella’s identity as a mysterious “whistleblower” was one of Washington’s best kept secrets. It was he who alleged that Trump misused the power of his office by asking Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate the apparently quid-pro-quo arrangement between former Vice President Joe Biden and former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.
That arrangement brought about the firing of Ukraine’s Prosecutor General Victor Shokin. Shokin was then investigating Burisma Holdings, a Ukrainian oil and gas concern on whose board Joe Biden’s son Hunter served.
Wake up, sleepy Republicans
But the whistleblower’s unmasking now may provide Republicans with an opportunity to ask Ciaramella pointed questions regarding his knowledge of Vice President Biden’s efforts on behalf of his son. A federal document shows Ciaramella was privy to Biden’s work in European affairs, having attended a 2015 luncheon Biden held in honor of Italy’s then-Prime Minister Matteo Renzi.
By some coincidence, National Intelligence Director James Clapper and CIA Director John Brennan also attended that luncheon. Interestingly, both men have lawyered up as Attorney General William Barr and US Attorney John Durham seek criminal indictments for those who illegally perpetrated the counterintelligence spying operations against members of President Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign.
And, after lying to his gullible media contacts, Democratic House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff admitted to previously communicated with the Ukraine whistleblower prior to his making a formal complaint. Schiff went so far as to advise the whistleblower on his choice of legal counsel.
Closed hearings and carefully honed narratives
Meanwhile, House Speaker Pelosi has attempted to prevent the destruction of the Democrat/media impeachment narrative. That narrative suffered serious damage in public hearings during which former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen and former Special Counsel Robert Mueller admitted neither Trump nor his campaign associates conspired with Russia to steal the 2016 presidential election from Hillary Clinton.
That is on reason why Pelosi handed the impeachment inquiry to House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff. He has kept the inquiry behind closed doors due to “national intelligence” issues. In addition, during these secret hearings, he has prevented witnesses from answering questions posed by Republican committee members. In the meantime, he manages to leak to the media portions of witness testimony that, taken out of context, may damage President Trump’s defense.
Open congressional hearings would force Democrats to explain a key issue. Namely, Trump’s real interest in exposing Obama administration foreign policy corruption in Ukraine. While at the same time feathering the financial nest of Hunter Biden. Both are likely Federal offenses at the very least.
Why not counter hearings in the Republican Senate?
Should congressional Republicans awake from their slumber? (And that’s a very big ask.) And should Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Jim Risch schedule hearings to bring whistleblower Ciaramella before his panel. Where Ciaramella would testify about what he knows of Biden’s efforts to enrich his son at Ukraine’s expense.
According to Sen. Rand Paul, Eric Ciaramella “was Joe Biden’s point man on Ukraine. For that reason alone, as Sen. Rand Paul points out, it is imperative the whistleblower be subpoenaed. He needs to testify under oath about Hunter Biden and corruption.”

Attorneys representing the whistleblower have notified Joseph Maguire, Acting Director of National Intelligence, of their “serious concerns… regarding our client’s personal safety…” They claime that “certain individuals have issued a $50,000 ‘bounty’ for ‘any information’ relating to our client’s identity. Unfortunately,” they continue, “we expect this situation to worsen, and to become even more dangerous for our client and any other whistleblowers, as Congress seeks to investigate this matter.”
The public’s right to know
But the American people have a right to know who in Barack Obama’s weaponized Deep State government continues the effort to negate the constitutionally mandated free election of a sitting American president. To know who hides and continues to hide behind CIA secret identities and the whistleblower’s mask of anonymity. To see the true face of conspiracy in America’s first attempted coup d’état in history.
And finally, it’s time for traditionally milquetoast Republicans to wake the hell up and drag Obama’s and Biden’s minions out of the shadows and into the bright sunshine of truth.
If not for the sake of their otherwise dying political party, then for their country itself.
