WASHINGTON. The Democratic National Committee (DNC), which partially funded the creation of the anti-Trump dossier that triggered the phony Trump/Russia collusion narrative, has announced that Fox News will not host any of the 2020 Democratic presidential debates.
Tough questions tend to poke holes in false narratives.
The DNC: Running, as usual, from tough questions
DNC Chairman Tom Perez said Fox is “not in a position to host a fair and neutral debate for our candidates. Therefore, Fox News will not serve as a media partner for the 2020 Democratic primary debates.”
CNN’s chief media correspondent, Brian Stelter, added his two cents, saying,
“Every night in prime time, Democrats are dehumanized, they’re attacked relentlessly by Fox News prime time hosts. It was always hard for me to imagine a Democratic party debate taking place in those hours when figures like Nancy Pelosi and Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez are constantly demonized and attacked.”
In other words, the guardians of the dominant liberal culture also fear tough questions. Especially those from a media voice rightfully suspicious of powerful elitists and their motives. The kind of tough questions that once were the beating heart of real journalism.
What are they running from?
The DNC and the media establishment are running from the kind of tough questions that should challenge, among other issues, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s (AOC’s) extraordinarily absurd notions on how America and the world should run. Such as her Green New Deal, which plans to replace commercial aircraft with high-speed rail boondoggles: a government-provided “living wage” for those who produce nothing: and her plans to give Washington elites unprecedented control over American society.
After all, who could possibly find the following paragraph grin-worthy in the Green New Deal FAQ?
“We set a goal to get to net-zero, rather than zero emissions, in 10 years because we aren’t sure that we’ll be able to fully get rid of farting cows and airplanes that fast…”
The threat posed by farting cows is not something one expects to find in serious policy papers. And this Democrat proposal intends to control nearly every aspect of 328 million American lives. Not to mention those offensive cows.
To her credit, AOC owns up to the hubris inherent in socialism, democratic or otherwise. She holds firmly to the belief that socialism can successfully regulate and control reality, right down to the intestinal gas produced by nefarious, cud-chewing bovines.
The stupidity of socialism’s advocates, therefore, is absolutely worthy of being “constantly demonized and attacked.” As is the current DNC hierarchy that supports them.
The real problem today is that CNN’s Brian Stelter and most other members of the so-called mainstream media identify with that kind of stupidity and its Democrat boosters as well.
Michael Tackett, who covers national politics for the New York Times, is disturbed that Trump is “painting socialists as villains.” He describes Trump’s State of the Union warning against socialism as “something new” that could be “the kind of rhetorical touchstone of his re-election campaign that sounding the alarm about ‘criminal illegal aliens’ was in 2016.”
If it does, says Tackett…
“…it could provide Mr. Trump with a potentially effective weapon in confronting an increasingly aggressive and more liberal Democratic Party, defining it through attacks on Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont and Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, who describe themselves as democratic socialists, and other members of the party pushing progressive policies like a 70 percent tax rate and “Medicare for all.”
But fellow Times’ columnist Jamelle Bouie says hard-left Democrats shouldn’t worry. Why?
“Because the Cold War is well in the rearview mirror of history, the United States also has a growing cohort of voters with no experience of its political environment. Thirty-five percent of voters in the 2018 elections were born in November 1973 or later, according to exit polls from CNN. The oldest in that group would have been teenagers during the fall of the Berlin Wall; the youngest were born nearly 10 years afterward.”
These are exactly the kind of voters the DNC is relying on to tilt Election 2020 their way.
Socialism appeals to those with no sense of history while possessing the boundless gullibility of youth. That is to say, the legion of ignorant millennials who vote. Like those who sent Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to the House of Representatives.
This new, socialist wing is gaining control of FDR’s party. And they are jamming their sharp elbows into the sides of old Democrats, like House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
As the field of Democrats running for president expands, they are sounding more like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez than Nancy Pelosi. These AOC-like presidential hopefuls are as averse to having their tenuous assumptions challenged as your average, safe-space-craving university “educated” snowflake.
So that is why the DNC doesn’t want Fox News correspondents asking critical questions of its new brand of presidential candidates.
Namely, DNC favored, millennial-inspired ,Cow-Fart Socialists.
