WASHINGTON, November 24, 2017 – Safe spaces? On June 6th 1944, American soldiers risked their lives to storm the beaches of Normandy in what we know today as D-Day. The tide was high that day and some of the men drowned before they even reached the shore.
Additionally, many soldiers were hit by machine gunfire while evacuating their boats.
Many of these brave men were younger than 20 years old.
Regardless of the great dangers that awaited the soldiers, they knew that the only way to keep the free world alive was to push forward. It was the mindset of young Americans back in the day.
Millenials and Safe Spaces
Fast forward 74 years later to find ungrateful students confused about their genders and hiding in their safe spaces on the politically correct grounds of a college campus. Cult based schools where you were once encouraged to express new ideas has now become a place for conforming to leftist beliefs. And accruing crippling debt.
Students and faculty prevent conservative speakers from appearing on the campuses by violently protesting without permits. More frightening is that their party leaders and benefactors like George Soros support, fund encourage political ideology bad behavior.
Today’s students hearing something they do not like scream out a trigger warning to others and run to a safe space.
College no longer has safe spaces for speech
This booming wave of crybabies are known as the millennials, “a generation raised NOT to believe in freedom of speech but rather that they should have freedom from speech”.
According to F.I.R.E. 54% of public and 59% of private universities impose politically correct speech codes. An example of the anti-first amendment speech codes happened at a university in California on Constitution Day (September 17) 2013. A student found that a protest of NSA surveillance must stay within the free speech zone. Approximately 1.37% of the campus.
My roommate had a personal story wherein up at the University of Minnesota – Duluth his boss told him that he must not refer to females as woMEN when designing school posters; the inconvenient root ending of’ men’ may offend feminist activists on the campus.
So there you have it, college campuses in today’s society are breeding grounds for fascism while shrouding themselves under the vail known as the safe space.
So what is a safe space you ask? The always handy Google search engine (which is also a politically correct cult) says:
“Safe space is a term for an area or forum where either a marginalized group are not supposed to face standard mainstream stereotypes and marginalization, or in which a shared political or social viewpoint is required to participate in the space”.
Without personal interjection, this is actually what came up in the response. What is sad is how those individuals who have been indoctrinated into the politically correct cult believe that what they are doing is blocking hate speech. What they are really doing is indoctrinating a leftist agenda to sway people from critical thinking and the truth.
Stopping the safe spaces nonsense?
Step one is to eliminate safe spaces. Instead, colleges should promote the expression of new ideas instead of aggressively coloring your anger in a room filled with puppies (yes these places do exist). Next, allow students to assemble peacefully on campuses to express their ideas and beliefs without opposition.
Third, we stop implementing political correctness in school handouts, posters, and newsletters.
Fourth, hire professors that are qualified to be teachers. A priority for hiring should not be ideological beliefs nor should hiring giv the authority to push their bias political agendas. Lastly, we eliminate useless majors/subjects and departments that just waste money and are only there to persuade students into adopting their political agendas.
There are too many students enrolling in majors that do not prepare them for a real job and there are too many departments that just segregate everyone on the basis of identity politics.
We need more students to rise up and start fighting back. We are stronger in numbers and there are plenty of students from both sides of the political spectrum that agree that the political correctness and safe space culture on campuses is a violation of the first amendment. In case some of you forgot what the first amendment is, here is a copy below:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion,
or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;
or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press;
or the right of the people peaceably to assemble,
and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
