Climate Change and media hysteria: Twelve years and counting?
WASHINGTON: Twelve years and counting. When does the count start? Can anybody in the media, Congress or Washington even count?
“The world is going to end in twelve years if we don’t address climate change.”
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said it around the middle of January. Several in the media repeat the fearful works. Very few are brave enough to peg the 29-year-old as a fool. Someone, somewhere who is not responsible enough to handle sharp objects or walk freely among mentally stable people.
There is no third way: She is a fool or a liar. Or a foolish liar. Either way
Too many of the liberal supporting media, citing the U.N. Climate Change report, give her idiotic predictions credibility. (ALEXANDRIA OCASIO-CORTEZ WARNS, ‘WORLD IS GOING TO END IN 12 YEARS,’ REITERATING CLAIMS OF RECENT U.N. CLIMATE CHANGE REPORT)
They do this as a crime of omission. Each, in turn, refers to AOC’s prediction that the world will be irreparable and then speaks merely of her lack of experience and not of her lunacy.
Indeed, the media does not report that she is a liar.
Even the forty-three 43 Senate Democrats voting “present” on her green dream theme, while not believing her, are not calling her for her rhetoric.
These are congressmen and women who are too timid to stand up against a 29 -year-old nitwit. Either that or they think she and the U.N. are onto something.
The Immigration Crisis
One America News posts each day an hourly update on the immigration crisis. They exhibit a daily and hourly count as to how much and how many as each value changes.
Media creating panic among the populace is nothing new. Fear is one way of controlling the greater masses.
On Jan. 6, 1941 President Franklin Roosevelt’s State of the Union address that would become one of his most famous.
“I address you, the Members of this new Congress, at a moment unprecedented in the history of the Union. I use the word “unprecedented,” because at no previous time has American security been as seriously threatened from without as it is today.
Since the permanent formation of our Government under the Constitution, in 1789, most of the periods of crisis in our history have related to our domestic affairs. And fortunately, only one of these–the four-year War Between the States–ever threatened our national unity.”
“At no previous time has American security been as seriously threatened from without as it is today,” Roosevelt admits, but he still had hope for a future that would encompass the “four essential human freedoms”—including freedom from fear.
Roosevelt lists those as
In the future days, which we seek to make secure, we look forward to a world founded upon four essential human freedoms.
- The first is freedom of speech and expression–everywhere in the world.
- The second is freedom of every person to worship God in his own way–everywhere in the world.
- The third is freedom from want–which, translated into world terms, means economic understandings which will secure to every nation a healthy peacetime life for its inhabitants-everywhere in the world.
- The fourth is freedom from fear–which, translated into world terms, means a world-wide reduction of armaments to such a point and in such a thorough fashion that no nation will be in a position to commit an act of physical aggression against any neighbor–anywhere in the world.
Following the attack on Pearl Harbor in December of that year, news reports from the time showed that America’s response was one of determination more than fear.
Nearly three-quarters of a century later, a poll released in December found that Americans are more fearful of terrorism than at any point since Sept. 11, 2001. (A New York Times/CBS News Poll on Terrorism and the 2016 Race)
Moreover, while recent events like the attacks in ISIS-inspired attacks in Paris and the fatal shootings in San Bernardino, Calif. may have Americans particularly on edge, experts say that Roosevelt’s advice has gone unheeded for some time.
The great worry a few years ago was of the digital change to 2000 A.D. from 1999 A.D. causing the world to stop due to computers not being correctly engineered for the date change to Y2K, or the year 2000.
Short of a disonaur killing asteroid, the world is not ending in 12 years
Why now does not ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN et ilk plaster across their TV spots about the dirty dozen running down and the world is ending?
Alternatively, at least “report” that some politician(s) are full of it.
If AOC is correct in her assessment, then the countdown should have begun a few months back.
Instead of the planet having 12 years, as is reported each day, it should be, about now, only 11 years and nine months. Now, a guy my age can witness that 11 years go by in a flash, so somebody besides AOC better get off their ass.
I mean by next spring the life of the planet will be counting down on ten years.
Ten Years to Destruction
Are the same Fake News folks (and they are) going to be reporting in the fall elections of 2020 that AOC is running on the platform will be ending in “twelve” years or ten years and a couple of months?
This has got to be news: The world is ending before children born today become teenagers.
Maybe that’s the out for these fruit loops. The world is ending in 12 years, but we will stop the clock when we get enough votes to regain control of the Government, and the purse. The clock stops when we move to a socialist government controlled by Democrat Socialists.
Meanwhile, the small amount of intelligent life remaining in Washington are climate deniers with blood on their hands.
