WASHINGTON, February 16, 2018. (Opinion) Released today, the indictment of thirteen Russian nationals is nothing but egg on the face of Americans.
Particularly those Americans that donned their black ski masks and created dissent among their fellow Americans. Whose protests were designed to destroy our freedom of speech. Those who are warring against the legal assembly of persons.
Those persons, comedians, actors, late night talk show hosts who spewed vitriols of hate against a political party and some fifty percent of America. They are all pawns in Russia’s game to sow discord on our shores.
Checkmate. Vlad wins.
Per the indictment:
“Defendants also used the stolen identities of real U.S. persons to post on ORGANIZATION-controlled social media accounts. Over time, these social media account became Defendants’ means to reach significant number of Americans for purposes of interfering with the U.S. political system, including the presidential election of 2016.”
Conspiracy seeds were sowed in 2014, long before Donald Trump or his administration where a thorn in Hillary Clinton’s paw. The full out assault on America began in earnest in 2016. No American’s have been identified, but thirteen Russian nationals are being indicted for working
“…in various capacities to carry out Defendant ORGANIZATION’s interference operations targeting the United States from in or around 2014 to the present Defendants knowing and intentionally cons[red with each other (and with persons known and unknown to the Grand Jury) to defraud the United States by impairing, obstructing and defeating the lawful functions of the government through fraud and deceit for the purpose of interfering with the U.S. political and electoral process, including the presidential election of 2016.”
And they spent more than $1.2 million to do so.
So says AG Rod Rosenstein
What is most imposing about this is that the Russians were not seeking to elect Hillary Clinton over Donald Trump, or vice-versa. Their goal was to use information warfare tactics to sow “discord” and weaken America.
And they did a very good job at meeting their goals.
They were able to into the hysteria of the Democratic Party, backed groups that created dissension, like Black Lives Matter. Like the patient chess players that they are, Russia became a new cancer eating away at the one thing that makes America special.
Their attempt was to destroy us as Americans. To unravel the very fabric of who and what we are.
Object of the Conspiracy
Russia developed a sophisticated network, Internet Research Agency, LLC, that included buying a server located in the U.S., and giving them the ability to present themselves as Americans in social media and to allow them to purchase political ads, support conflicting pro and anti-Trump rallies.
Their goal, according to the indictment, is:
“The conspiracy had as its object impairing, obstructing, and defeating the lawful governmental functions of the United States by dishonest means in order to enable the Defendants to interfere with U.S. political and electoral processes, including the 2016 U.S. Presidential election.”
Democrat cries of Russia, Russia, Russia.
No matter what happened, or didn’t, Hillary Clinton lost because citizen, candidate and then President Trump must have colluded. Or his son or his security advisors.
Anyone else whose picture they could tack to their hysterical bullseye.
According to the indictment,
“…Defendants, posing as U.S. persons and creating false U.S. Personas, operated social media pages and groups designed to attract U.S. audiences. These groups and pages, which addressed divisive U.S. political and social issues, falsely claimed to be controlled by U.S. activists, when in fact the Defendants controlled them. Defendants also used the stolen identities of real U.S. persons to post on ORGANIZATION-controlled social media accounts. Over time, these social media account became Defendants’ means to reach a significant number of Americans for purposes of interfering with the U.S. political system, including the presidential election of 2016.”
Hillary Clinton’s defeat: from Russia with love
But the reality is that Russia was acting against America. Hillary Clinton would have been a much easier puppet for the Putin to play. But it was easier for Russia’s agents to foment anger against Donald Trump. It was easier for those bad actors to whip liberals into a frenzy of hate and destruction.
It is easier to attack our basic freedoms of free speech and right to assemble from within. Easier to use angry students at Berkley, or marchers in Chicago, or inauguration protestors in Washington. Far easier to destroy a society where College Professors speak words of hate and anarchy.
A note to Ashley Judd. I am an angry woman. I am angry because you were so easily manipulated to hate another person because of political ideology.
Rosenstein has said that their efforts did not change the outcome of the election. Does that mean that if Hillary Clinton had won, we could say the Russian’s impacted the outcome of the 2016 Presidential election? Seems so.
The reality is they failed.
As did Clinton and the DNC. For the last time, let’s state, Hillary Clinton lost because she and the DNC, through their actions, chased the Bernie Sanders voters away. Hillary Clinton lost because she did not campaign to middle America and she lost Wisconsin. She lost because she hates Deplorables.
Hillary Clinton lost because of Watergate, Whitewater, Bill Clinton, Benghazi, emails, and because she is unlikable.
The #1 real reason Hillary Clinton lost
There is no allegation that any American was a knowing participant in the election, or that it affected the outcome of the 2016 election.
Nonetheless, Russia is continuing to meddle in U.S. elections, the 2018 midterms their next target.
Hate in America has to stop.
Friends ban friends on Facebook, not over politics, but because they hate Donald Trump. When you ask them why they hate him, you get talking points. You get them saying someone, somewhere said he might have done this at one time or another.
You don’t get a conversation on his policies.
That hate, tossed around so easily by persons from all political spectrums, is eroding our society.
Is that hate responsible for the 25 school shootings since Columbine? Indirectly it is. Because we can’t sit down and discuss sensible gun control because it is a political argument funded by lobbyists on both sides of the aisle.
Neither party is willing to lose the gun lobby dollars.
Don’t agree?
Then why didn’t President Obama, when he had the House, Senate, and White House, enact gun laws?
The solution. We have to stop. Stop being Putin’s pawns. Stop listening to media that foments hate – whether Fox or CNN. Remember, shame on Russia once, shame on America twice.
And then go out and be nice to someone unexpected. Only then can we win the game. Because there is a lot of good in America.
