PORTLAND, Ore.: The brutal Antifa violence inflicted on journalist Andy Ngo in Portland is part of a growing wave of leftist violent confrontations across the country. The attack appears to have implicit support from local Democrat authorities, including Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler.
It’s increasingly clear that from Portland to Berkeley to Charlottesville, Virginia, hardcore leftist brown shirts, led by a growing cadre of Antifa thugs, are resorting to open violence. Intimidation on a regular basis is an acceptable method of political discourse.
While Democratic leaders stand idly by. The passivity of Democratic leadership just encourages this out-of-control mob violence. (At least 101 shot, 15 killed during violent Fourth of July weekend in Chicago)
Antifa violence: Bolshevik tactics reminiscent of Weimar, St. Petersburg
Today’s openly thuggish Antifa violence is reminiscent of the political violence in Weimar Germany in the 1920s and the Bolshevik rampaging in St. Petersburg in 1917. Communists and Nazis battled in the streets of Munich and Berlin, taking German society and Western Europe down with them in the process.
The Bolshevik tactics employed by Antifa in Portland and elsewhere are a demonstrable threat to our civil liberties and free speech organized by the radical left. With, unfortunately, the quiet endorsement of the Democratic political establishment, which has, as usual, remained almost entirely silent on the recent Portland atrocity.
No one can condone what happened to Andy Ngo. Yet people on the left defend it, both implicitly and explicitly. MSNBC interviewees and talking heads claim Ngo was an instigator, a provocateur who deserved what happened to him. That is a lie. Ngo is an openly gay journalist for an established news outlet with official credentials covering a genuine story the media would otherwise have ignored.
He was just doing his job when he was viciously and brutally attacked as the Portland Police department stood idly by. Ngo sustained potentially serious brain injuries as a result of this attack.
Andy Ngo: A brutal video beat down
The video tells the story better than any words can portray. Available videos show that the attack was vicious, without provocation and potentially deadly. Since when is anyone, journalist or not, allowed to be attacked on the open street like this with impunity, while the law stands nearby, watching and doing nothing?

Three people were arrested following Saturday’s events. Democrat Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler has repeatedly told the police to stand down from interfering during the repeated Antifa rallies that are routinely held in downtown Portland. He had done the same when Antifa protesters had trapped dozens of ICE employees in their Portland office building months ago.
Astonishingly, Wheeler also holds the title of Portland Police Chief.
Mayor Ted Wheeler: A pawn of violent leftist hooligans
Wheeler says he gave no such “stand down” order. However, video evidence and Ngo’s words tell a different story.
Police never intervened to stop the extreme violence against Ngo. A man throws a full beer can at Ngo’s head from point-blank range. Stones, silly string barrages, and “milkshakes” which may have contained quick-dry cement were lobbed at Ngo at will. The Portland cops just watched.
The scene was reminiscent of a similar incident during the infamous 1992 LA riots. There, at the corner of Normandie and Florence, rioters pulled an innocent trucker from his vehicle. They quickly beat him senseless. One rioter threw a brick at his head, nearly killing him.
Such violence was and is unacceptable in America. Regardless of politics, no American should stand for or endorse it, much less excuse and accommodate it. Mayor / Police Chief Ted Wheeler regularly understaffs police security at these rallies.
This, along with the usual “stand down” orders issued by Wheeler, relegates Portland’s finest to the role of bystanders. The attack on Ngo was despicable. The police should have stopped it immediately. But they did not.
Andy Ngo may have suffered some permanent damage
In the aftermath of the attack, Andy Ngo was hospitalized. His beaten, swollen face is now a symbol of uncontrolled and officially tolerated left-wing violence. The left-wing press laughably claims that Antifa was only responding to a right-wing group known as the Proud Boys.
Apparently, these skirmishes have been going on for a long time in Portland. It’s reminiscent of the battles between National Socialists and Communists in Berlin and Munich in the 1920s.
Holding Nazis and Bolsheviks accountable
Whoever the Proud Boys are, they should be held accountable whenever they get out of control. Right-wing violence is just as despicable as left-wing violence. But numerically, the Proud Boys are in some ways similar to the fading right-wing White Supremacist movement. If they engage in violence and get it back in return, they have no one to blame but themselves. In no way do they represent America, white America, conservatism or Republicans.
But Democrats like to paint it that way, and the corrupt media is happy to promote that message. It is a lie.
There are far more radical, left-wing Democrats openly willing to use both violence and the cover of officialdom to propagate it. Far more than the tiny fringe groups of far-right fanatics.
Neither the extreme right and the extreme left have no right to engage in political intimidation and violence.
Mainstream American conservatives reject such actions completely. Yet the mainstream of the Democrat party seems to embrace and endorse political violence against the right. And even against innocent civilians suddenly trapped without warning in surging, out-of-control urban battlefronts.
Charlottesville and Portland: Two peas in a pod
Mayor Ted Wheeler should be taking action against both the Proud Boys and Antifa. The Police in Charlottesville should have prevented Neo-Nazis from even stepping onto the sacred ground of the Rotunda on the campus of Mr. Jefferson’s University.
But in both cases, the Democrats in charge appeared to desire street theater encouraging the imagery of hatred. Caused by the right, of course, according to the media, who arguably helped create the ensuing confrontations.
In both cities, the police actually allowed the Neo-Nazis and Antifa to clash. They encouraged it or were ordered to. The evolving story was, of course, slanted against anyone on the right. It was just another meme that went along with the constant racist smearing of conservative America.
As such, it became an essential part of the left-wing Democrat/media Conservative/White Supremacy narrative. It offered another great chance to smear ordinary American conservatives by lumping them with right-wing fringe groups. That smear and slander campaign continues to this day.
Democrat Governor Terry McAuliffe of Virginia and the Mayor of Charlottesville are as much blame for what occurred in Charlottesville as the Neo-Nazis and Antifa. They could have ordered police to cordon off the Rotunda and Quad. The area is small, and closing it off would have been easy.
The Robert E Lee statue, a target of left-wing wrath is (or was) a mere hundred yards from the University Rotunda.
Charlottesville and Portland: A Democrat disgrace
Like the Portland police force, the Charlottesville police were given instructions to stand down during the brewing violence. To allow the clashes. In Charlottesville, University and State Police should have prevented the torch-light parade to begin with. It is an abomination that they allowed it to get underway. They knew exactly what was being planned. By both sides. They had ample intelligence before the fact.
Less well known is that leadership knows the Antifa groups were and are heavily funded by socialist and globalist organizations and front groups. Organizations and groups funded by Hungarian billionaire and globalist George Soros.
With regard to Portland and Andy Ngo. Whatever you think of Ngo’s politics he was brutally attacked by Bolshevik thugs on the left while he was doing his job. Belatedly Portland arrested the perpetrators. They finally had to, given the level of outcry from the public. We’ll wait to see what happens to these violent thugs. If anything.
Soros-funded Antifa violence must stop
Whatever the legal outcome of the Ngo / Antifa case, the violence and intimidation instigated by the radical left-wing of the Democrat party find its expression in so many other ways. Repression of conservatives on Social Media. A Democrat Party Press that makes no attempt at objectivity. The constant barrage of Saul Alinsky-style attacks on anything Donald Trump attempts to do.
The list goes on. It includes weaponizing of the Federal judiciary against the legion of left-wing activist judges appointed by President Obama. And, in 2019, daily outrages hurled forth by the swarming horde of newly elected left-wing members of Congress. They vilify their own country while they attack law enforcement at every opportunity.
Whether it happens in friendly socialist enclaves like Portland, Berkeley, or Charlottesville, the increasing swarm of George Soros-sponsored Antifa violence across America is simply another arrow in the left’s Bolshevik quiver. They use each demonstration as a set-up for another act of street theater to perpetuate the lie of racism and White supremacy in America.
Don’t believe me. Just look what they did to Andy Ngo.
