WASHINGTON: A quick press conference and President Trump’s foot comes down hard. Two weeks ago, the President, Pelosi and Schumer meet and agreed on a plan for infrastructure spending. The plan was to meet today to go the next step. But the spoiled child the 79-year-old Democrat is, Pelosi poked at the President. Just before the meeting Pelosi claims that the “President is guilty of a coverup.”
She finally pushed the President just that much too far.
The president says he walked into the room to meet with the Democrat leaders and told them that he wants to work on infrastructure, but that the phony investigations have to come to an end. Dead stop. The President will not work with politicians, eager to regain power by continuing to investigate, not legislate.
The Democrats response is they left the meeting.
No Collusion, No Coverup – 100% White House Cooperation
The president spoke to the fact that he has fully cooperated, 100%, and that White House staff has fully cooperated with the Mueller investigation and more. And facts being sticky things, he and the Administration did. Mueller himself said so. If they did not, a reasonable thinking person would surmise, the Mueller report would still be ongoing.
Democrats have no interest in working on behalf of the American people on anything. Not on infrastructure, drug prices or the border. They have no agenda except undoing the will of the American people.
And it is not just the president they are after, its the president’s agenda.
HUD Secretary Ben Carson
To wit, receiving little or no press coverage, HUD secretary Ben Carson appeared before the Financial Services Committee to explain his plans to eventually evict undocumented immigrant families from public housing saying that the U.S. needs to “take care of your own first.”
“It’s not that we’re cruel, mean-hearted. It’s that we are logical. This is common sense,” Carson said during a hearing with Democratic House Financial Services Committee members. “You take care of your own first.”
Federally subsidized housing is available to families with at least one person who qualifies for HUD programs. However, in April an announcement is made that it would no longer allow undocumented immigrants to access federal housing programs.
That those programs were paid for by and for Americans first, and that many Americans have been on long waiting lists.
Nonetheless, illegal households facing evictions would have six months to find another place to live. If they were unable to find housing, they could apply to defer their eviction two more times. Up to eighteen months.
Which, Dr. Carson explains, is more than enough time for Congress – House and Senate – to pass immigration reforms and begin to control this crisis that is not just at the border. The crisis of where do these people go once they are in the US. Who pays for their health care?
Dr. Carson, as a part of the Trump Administration, is demanding that Congress, starting with the obstructionist house, do their jobs. Because what we have is a human and health crisis that will badly affect America and Americans.
According to Dr. Laurence Nickey, director of the El Paso health district (reprinted from Illegal Immigration and Public Health)
“Contagious diseases that are generally considered to have been controlled in the United States are readily evident along the border … The incidence of tuberculosis in El Paso County is twice that of the U.S. rate. Dr. Nickey also states that leprosy, which is considered by most Americans to be a disease of the Third World, is readily evident along the U.S.-Mexico border and that dysentery is several times the U.S. rate … People have come to the border for economic opportunities, but the necessary sewage treatment facilities, public water systems, environmental enforcement, and medical care have not been made available to them, causing a severe risk to health and well being of people on both sides of the border.”
Washington Theater Faux Surprise
The President took to the podium within minutes and said that he wants to work with Democrats on infrastructure. “It’s what I do,” the President says. But first, Democrats have to get done with the phony investigations. As Dr. Carson said yesterday, its time to legislate.
As quickly as they could Pelosi and Schumer headed to the press to talk about how the President does not care about infrastructure. And that this was a stunt. And in some ways, it was. That the President has chosen not to work with them any further. Knowing that Pelosi had dropped her “coverup” bomb in order to demean the President, he was ready when they walked in the door. And he said, go home. I am not playing your games anymore.
Because you can only slap someone so many times before they say no. No more.
Pelosi of the vacant eyes feigns surprise that the President walked away from the meeting.
Which is surprising in itself. Did she really think, after her pre-meeting stunt (see above video), that she would have a lovely sit-down with Donald Trump after once again threatening him and his presidency?
That is surprising, for its insipid transparently insulting behavior. A typical Pelosi charade.
Basically, the President is saying I am not going to continue working with you until you stop being a brat. Which means he will work around them. The President has 16 months to push his agenda without the Democrats. It is President Donald Trumps “I have a pen and a phone” moment.
And that he is not going to play the Democrat’s games any longer.
The Democrats Investigation Insanity is getting dangerous to the Executive Branch
Fox News John Roberts, reporting from the White House, says that the President has finally had enough. Political pundit Chris Stierwalt says that Pelosi and Schumer never planned on working with Trump. If Trump maintains the economy, gets drug prices down, addresses the opioid epidemic, and gets illegal immigration under control, he wins 2020.
And the only way Democrats can stop that is to mire the President in investigations, subpoenas, and threats. The one single thing Democrats can do to stop that is to stop the President’s and America’s progress through fake investigations and fire drills.
Attorney General William Barr says he has a desire to defend the power of the executive branch rather than, as Democrats claims, President Trump.
“I felt the rules were being changed to hurt Trump, and I thought it was damaging for the presidency over the long haul,” Barr told The Wall Street Journal in El Salvador.
“At every grave juncture the presidency has done what it is supposed to do, which is to provide leadership and direction,” Barr added. “If you destroy the presidency and make it an errand boy for Congress, we’re going to be a much weaker and more divided nation.”
What American’s should be asking themselves is why do Pelosi and Schumer have the right to stop America in its tracks while Democrats meltdown in candy aisle temper tantrums?
