Jack is Back: Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando
It is hard to believe that Universal Orlando, Florida is celebrating twenty-five years of Halloween Horror – inviting their mascot of mayhem, Jack, back for another season of frightful fun. Jack does not disappoint. (scroll down for slide show images)
Universal Orlando Halloween Horror Night 25 benefits the movie maestros that they are. Within nine mazes and scare zones they have combined plenty of classic horror – Frankenstein to Carrie – with new pop-culture horror – The Walking Dead and Purge – letting loose hordes of zombies, mutants, walking dead, gruesome pirates and a wonderful collection of spooky stilt walkers.
We caught two live shows, Bill and Ted’s Halloween Adventure which is a “I can’t believe they got away with that” satirical look at what scares us – Kimye among my most terrifying fear.
“There is nothing funny about a clown by moonlight”

Jack Schmidt’s variety show is a bit over the top in its gore, but it’s done so well you find your self cheering “Hell yes, Jack!” with the crowd around you. The dancers are incredible, Jack’s mistress, a Harley Quinn type of personality with seriously scary sing song voice, has tons of talent, and Jack is the perfect Master of the Macabre.
Jack, an evil clown, comes to Universal Studios to bring the real life and fictional fear, or coulrophobia, of clowns alive. The variety style show is filled with plenty of jokes, dances, and tricks for the eager crowd.
Following are images captured from this year’s Universal Orlando Halloween Horror Night 25 (warning: some are pretty gruesome – no actual people, alive or dead, were harmed in the making of HHN 25.)
